  1. But Shadow comics 1 in unread high grade is like so rare
  2. And there's that saying 'Someones trash is another one's treasure' A cheap book today could be worth something more tomorrow. I remember many years ago buying a CGC 9.2 white page The Cat issue 1 from the early 70s. Price was $35 Australian. Roughly $25 U.S I thought at the time I'm buying a slab and the book inside is for free. Even after market correction the book has got to be worth more then a $100 or two. Then there are some that like buying the cheap books that don't hit 9.8 like the Miracle Man collector. Then there are those obscure books that a collector wants in any slab condition for their registry set. To each their own. Now if you're slabbing solely for resale books that are only worth $100 in 9.8 then that's the gamble. I'm sure CGC loves their business.
  3. I'm retired and I help out at my lcs on Tuesdays getting new books for Wednesday. So Tuesdays all about comic books for me. Pulling books for subscriptions and selling comic books in between that, bagging boarding and pricing someone else's comic book stock. I'm way behind in my reading and that is something I'll have to arrange. Downside or upside to helping out at a lcs is I'm always buying books. Just look what came into the store in the last four days.
  4. I think mcs having in possession consignment books is the way to go. Logistically it would probably be a nightmare storing other people's books for sale. Bright side is they have the books so there is no trying to get the consignee to send books that have been bought online and then the online business sending the books to the buyer. There could be damage or missing or delays from having this other step. And what happens if the owner of the book is away on a month vacation cruise or even longer?
  5. I have I think all the issue 1s of Atlas comics including Vickie which I think can be challenging in grade. I didn't know about the magazines and the My Secret, I'm half expecting a cover blurb mentioning a story involving Elvis and UFO's
  6. Namor and his insistence on reading literature in a aquatic environment.
  7. If you were to say I'm drinking a glass of water as we speak then I'd assume you were a ventriloquist.
  8. Small tears on the top front cover. Marvel chipping on the right hand side front cover. Tears and pieces missing on the bottom front cover. Small piece missing at the case of the spine. Small piece missing and a tear on the back cover. I'm at a 3.0
  9. I don't hunt the covers down. It's just when I see them I grab them. Like tomorrows new Wonder woman 1 variant cover.
  10. So comic prices have dropped? Nearly double Overstreet for mid grade Golden age and 70s romance. Congrats to the seller
  11. Yeah, the Lovers spanking cover. But that's just one book in that lot I can see of note.
  12. So prices are lower Not rare, warehouse copies found so not rare in 6.0-8.0 I think this sold over FMV I think this book sold for over FMV? A group of books, thinking it may normally sell cheaper because it's a group of not Uber high grade. My bid was a throw away bid and knew it wouldn't come close to winning. But it appears this kit went for over FMV? Maybe there are corrections on Key books worth a lot of money to begin with. But I'm seeing a different result in books I'm interested in and I see it regularly.
  13. And I picked up two copies of the Phantom stranger because the condition looks so nice.
  14. There's a sweet Forbidden Love issue two that's come in from the same collection the sinister house of love 1 came from at my lcs which I'll be buying. A nice dark purple cover.
