  1. Just a suggestion. Might be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the hobby before diving in, because sometimes...the pool is empty.
  2. I often feel this to be the case, but always give them the benefit of the doubt.
  3. Tile nippers work the best. I can have the book out of the case in 5 seconds.
  4. 4.0/4.5 range assuming nothing is detached on the interior.
  5. If it matters to the participants in this transaction, I am offering my services to get the condition of this book back (or as close as can be) to its original condition. Edit: At no cost.
  6. It's a risk you always run cracking a book out. Getting is signed adds an additional step/steps where additional damage can occur. No grade is guaranteed to stay the same once it is out of the plastic tomb.
  7. Some think that because a book is between cardboard and wrapped tightly in bubble wrap and then boxed up it cannot sustain SCS. Books can, but a book that is B&B'd, and then further protected by a sleeve and another board is less likely to sustain damage.
  8. One last question and then I will quit. Do you remember if the backing board had the same crunch?
  9. Was the top of the sleeve taped to keep the book from sliding out?
  10. Looks like an impact dent. The bend on the back cover...does it have dirt in the crease? Any way to get a close-up of the bend on the back cover? Or a blow up of the part of your scan?
  11. I ask because it could eliminate certain ways damage could have occurred. I have seen impact dents from books that were packed well, but not secure in the bag and board that shifted around inside the box. I am not putting blame on anyone, just thinking out loud.
  12. Was the book shipped the way it was shown in the for sale listing? Looks like it is bagged and boarded, and then put into a sleeve with another board (full back possibly) to provide additional protection.
  13. It is interesting that most took his comment to mean "I will refund the full purchase price". I know I did with the few posts I read. Are scans of the book available showing before and after? I would like to see exactly what type of damage occurred.
  14. I doubt CGC would ignore this degree of rippling when determining a technical grade. While it is production related, it is severe. The good thing is most of that can be pressed out to help bump the grade up.
  15. I have seen this issue with a lot of the 68 books, especially IM #1 and the graders take that into account when grading the book.
  16. Both were rather uneventful, and TBH I misread the original title.
