  1. Picked up 4 of these in Calgary from Jeff. Used them to pack the books in. They work great and get from me.
  2. Yes, one of the first that we went to at the show. While I was looking at the wall books and DCs , Joey was working the boxes. It was part of an OO collection that he purchased a few weeks ago from the OO's son after the OO died. He bought like 8 boxes of books at that time and told the guy that if he waited a couple of days, he would buy the remaining 12 boxes for 8-12K. For whatever reason, the guy sold it to another local store for $3K the next day. There was a raw Hulk 181 and 182 in those boxes which sold for $3K by themselves by the other store. Very strange. Joey knows what Joey is doing.
  3. I have to get some work done first. Will take a picture later.
  4. I'm thinking about a Carly Simon song that was used in a Heinz Ketchup commercial...
  5. The Calgary show has been a treasure trove of uber high grade picture frame books
  6. That is exactly my point. Sometimes you get a downgraded blue label and sometimes you get a qualified green label. There is no consistency. CGC needs to choose one way or the other. I just scrawl "no green labels" on my invoices, and I never get them. That seems too simple.
  7. When i see books like this sell at that sort of price it makes me wonder is it because its a 9.8 and other issues in 9.8 will also command those prices in that respective title or is it only certain issues because they have what is regarded as better covers. its very difficult to gage. A few factors play in a book getting a price like this. Scarcity in 9.8. Not to many of these floating around. Artwork and artist. One of the better covers in the run. How many need it for their set.
  8. Did you get this from Bedrock? It very reasonably priced and its the best 9.8 copy I've ever seen. Purchased raw from JHV in Chicago a few years ago. Press onsite and graded onsite.
  9. You might be slipping, Joe. Normally, your finely attuned Picture Frame radar would have sensed that book from across the room. I think I boycotted that booth because of the insane prices on the wall books. That's what you get. Still doesn't take away that this may be the nicest known copy of SME #4.
  10. I saw this in person. Can't believe that Joey didn't find it. Shame on him for not looking at that booth hidden in the corner. I saw that book() and passed for some reason. Might be a back cover issue if it is that same book. Still presents very nicely.
