  1. As always, a superb copy Barton.
  2. You mean besides being a great character, tough in high grade, possible Netflix show, or just an awesome bronze age key. There's nothing special about this book. Dave I am going to yell at you at Terry's show. See bold. There is no news on a Netflix TV show what so ever. No reason this book should have x4 in value over night. I got a weak CGC 9.8 on WWBN #32 a year and half ago and barely got over 2k for it. It makes sense why ASM 129 is heating up and SW #1, just saying what is so special about WWBN #32 all of a sudden. I have no answer. I think you're pissed because you barely got 2k. Anyways, I think MoonKnight a a character like many other characters has a good back story other than being a lunatic superhero and that he could very possibly be a new favourite (like Deadpool who was a complete unknown to 90% of humans till the movie announced) and the price will skyrocket. Overall I think he has potential. I don't think my sale is an anomaly (call it an educated hunch). I think the next 9.8 white pager will get almost the same money.
  3. I would agree with this with one exception. There are times that I have purchased books that had missing coupons or minor color touch that I was not initially aware of. In those cases all I really want to do is break even. If I do in these rare events, I chalk it up to experience and alert the seller to the issue with no demands for a refund, etc. While both parties need to do their due diligence, the bulk of the onus is on the seller.
  4. The Hulk 200 page went strong at $2,629.00. You can pick up pages (if and when they pop up for sale) from surrounding issues for less than half of that.
  5. I am surprised CGC gave 9.8 for this copy despite two stress marks that broke the color. If those two stress marks were literally the only defects on the book, then what should the grade have been? There is one mark, the other is an illusion caused by the slab. The one that looks like it breaks color is not a break, but an area lacking color. You see this on many copies that are high grade. Since they all seem to be I. The same spot CGC could consider it a production issue.
  6. I have the following moderns (all in 9.8). If any interest shoot me a PM. 7. Another remarkable procurement, Peter -- one of only 3 copies certified 9.6! Not a single book at this point has cracked the 9.8 barrier. It is uncommon in high grade, no doubt. So much so the Suscha News collection contains only a single copy. It's an uncertified specimen which I was fortunate to obtain a few years back... I have a lowly 9.4 and the white mountain copy in 9.2.
  8. Terrific looking book, Peter! Here's hoping you're successful in the acquisition. As for me, I absolutely adore the Suscha News collection. It's a wonderful assemblage with a story where books were originally acquired from a small town news distributor, right from the backroom receiving dock location, no less. Just for those that might be unknowing... here's a bit of FYI. There are loads of Pictures Frames in the Suscha News collection. Plenty of duplicates, too -- with multiple high-grade copies of the same, no less! The original collector knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he cherry pick each and every copy right from the wholesaler pallet during initial distribution in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Here's to you, Mr. Gearlds. You, my friend, have enabled your fellow enthusiast to re-experience the wonders of the Marvel Age with your amazing Suscha News collection from the early '70s. (thumbs u
  9. That looks like the one Joey Post used when he was grading a book at Baltimore this year. I was actually using a camera. It makes viewing easier and if you get the one that has the built in Wi-Fi it will broadcast to an iPad. Here is the link to the site. It is a little pricey but worth it in the long run.
  10. Yeah...it's his third strike within 9 months. He should be out for three weeks. Am I reading this right? Did he get two strikes on the same day?
  11. So would I. As it appears I need to get on-line more.
  12. Good for the consigner. Looks like these sales will raise prices on any copies 9.0 and up. Never thought this book would ever achieve 1/10th of these prices.
  13. I am selling some very early high grade AVGs in the upcoming Heritage auction including #9. Not sure what grade you are looking for Joey but check out my Pacific Coast copy in 9.6…
  14. Whoa. There have been some records set the last month.
  15. that's never stopped speculation before. No argument from me.
  16. In recent months I have found that the actual TOT's for standard and modern fast track we about the same; 1 month. Because I had a package refused by CGC (the PO did a number on the outside of the box but the books were thankfully protected) I wound up with a MFT that was received on 10/5 and a Standard that was received on 10/8. The MFT is in grading / quality control while the Standard is still in Verified. I expected there to be about a 3 days difference between the two subs through each of the stages. Based on this it appears as though at the very least MFT has sped up in terms of TOT. Ah, I remember the days that you could get MFT back in under 10 business days.
