  1. Those are the rules. (thumbs u I read that but no where does it state a rule for waiting 30 days for something you paid for. Or is it more of a "rule of thumb" per-say? this thread explains the 30 days rule. I read that and quite honestly it's so dang vague. Doesn't state anything about buyer never receiving what they paid for and can't file dispute without waiting 30 days. Those rules just seems to mean both parties have 30 days to fully complete the transaction prior to nominating those involved to the probation list. No where does it state that jumping the gun to file a dispute is a no no but seems like it's more of a rule of thumb to not jump the gun. However in my case I felt it was more than fair as I have asked twice and the third time was to file a dispute to start the process with a mediator in between which is paypal to moderate the issue. Just know that "jumping the gun" in regards to filing disputes will upset some sellers here. That may be enough for some sellers not to sell books to you anymore. It's not necessarily fair, but a few sellers don't want to deal with people they feel may cause them headaches. WOW?!? Seriously? Now that is not fair but then again it's their property and they can choose who they do business with or not but still trying to punish somebody for protecting themselves because they filed a dispute can be considered extortion. It's like saying, "oh you paid? Well I have 30 days to send it out or provide tracking so you can't do anything until then." Yes, seriously. And like was posted above, it's good etiquette to tell the seller you are going to file the claim, and not just do it. This is a community, not e-bay. Just because your book wasn't shipped within 3 weeks time, doesn't mean you just run and file a claim. Like I said, this will cause a few sellers to steer clear of you from now on. That and a few other things will have some people steering clear of this guy now. -slym Joe is a prince of a guy and one of the most trustworthy guys on the boards. I would definitely not be alarmed if there was a delay. He get busy but he responds in reasonable time. I think this is just a simple case of someone who was burned in the past, not wanting to get burned again. Without fully understanding the rules he jumped the gun and was given a chance to let the transaction take place the way the rules dictate here on the boards. Eventually that's what he did. His money was refunded and the deal, as far as I am concerned is over. Keep in mind he did pay and had open communication, when I at times did not.
  2. Refund has been sent. I think this transaction can no we be laid to rest.
  3. Since you outed yourself I am going to have to stick to the rules. You can close the dispute and I will refund your money. Or, I can satisfy PayPal and mail you the book so you can have two copies. Next time understand the rules.
  4. Just to clarify. If the buyer has opened a paypal dispute is that not also premised on a good faith attempt by both parties to complete the original transaction? What is the buyer's paypal "claim" exactly? I think it was just to protect himself. The buyer specifically stated he no longer needed the original book purchased since he picked up another copy in the meantime off of ebay.
  5. How would this following scenario be viewed according to the rules of the boards. Book is sold and seller waits till his thread is closed and then sends out invoices. Seller thinks he has mailed out the book and it turns out he did not. When brought to his attention the seller makes sure no shipping history exists and then let's the buyer know the book would be shipped out in a few days. All of this is well within the 30 day window. Buyer opens a paypal dispute and then PM.s the seller he picked up another copy on ebay and wants his money refunded.
  6. He has not returned any correspondence to date, why should he all of a sudden do so because he is threatened by being added to the probation list? The thread alone has been up for over a week with no response from him. I received payment in full from John (Slab-Pro) this afternoon. Since the transaction has been completed and I am 100% happy I nominate that he be removed from the probation list. Did they give a reasoning as to the delay? They did. He even called to explain.

  8. That is so freaking gross. My 10/23 FAST-FREAKING-TRACK Moderns have been graded for about 10 biz days and haven't shipped. BUY A NEW FREAKING ENCAPSULATION MACHINE. TRAIN MORE THAN 1 NEW PERSON TO USE IT IN TIMES OF BOTTLENECKS AT ENCAPSULATION. So, everyone was freaking out about pooling, and I'm pretty sure that happens in encapsulation. Maybe the hold up is that they are taking our complaints seriously and doing their best to make sure no major pooling is happening? So that is why it's backed up? I know, it's a crazy theory. Would you rather have your books a week or 2 late, or have pooling? I'd rather wait a little extra time. Reality is you are waiting for pooled books.
  9. Just got back my first NM+ price variant that is signed. Will post results when I have the book in hand. And yes...it is a Hulk book.
  10. I found 10-12 IG slabs that I forgot I had. Lots of 9.5/9.8 blue label and SS books. PM me if you have a want list.
  11. He has not returned any correspondence to date, why should he all of a sudden do so because he is threatened by being added to the probation list? The thread alone has been up for over a week with no response from him. It's just a technicality, Joey. You need to send him a separate PM, alerting him to this thread. If he doesn't respond within 72 hours, he goes on the list. (thumbs u I'll beat the dead horse one more time to make the powers that be happy. Tomorrow morning ...times up.
  12. Buying more machinery or hiring additional unqualified people never equates to competence. Only means you screw up at an accelerated rate.
  13. My guess is they are completely overwhelmed.

  16. Slab-Pro needs to be added to the list based on this thread.
