  1. did you buy Steves time machine from him?
  2. Picked up two 30 cent variants at mega-con. Hulk 200 CGC 9.6 Hulk 201 CGC 9.6
  3. What would the CBLDF version in 9.8 double SS be worth?
  4. Nah, they put in new labels and micro chamber paper. So it has to be encapsulated again. I think they stopped using microchamber paper. I thought that was public knowledge. I've seen people here comment on it and the last 5 or 6 books I've cracked didn't have it in them. I've never seen a book missing microchamber paper on both ends. Sometimes it's missing on the back end, sometimes it's on a 2nd page as opposed to behind the cover. I've seen a few missing one page but having the other. Usually moderns or coppers IIRC. I come across it on a fairly regular basis.
  5. A 9.8 copy recently sold for $300+ so it is not entirely out of line.
  6. I have been waiting almost two weeks for books to go from graded to shipped. Any idea how long they took to get to graded? I believe they were received on 1/25

  8. Too bad it came back restored. That is one sweet looking book.
  9. Sorry Andy but that's a major oversight. At the risk of being unpopular.. Joey does his job well but his communication skills are seriously flawed IMO. He never lets you know what was done with each individual book and never contacts you unless you contact him first. Tony Stark from Comics in a flash - absolutely awesome. A fantastic communicator that kept in touch with me constantly. I never had any issues with how much anything was going to cost like I did with Joey. Joey even ignored all my paperwork that I sent in specifying some books to be fast tracked etc. All my books were submitted under the modern tier. At every stage (when books were pressed, when they were sent to CGC, when they were posted) Tony sent me a message. I was never left wondering. Joey might be suited to some but he isn't the messiah and there are other options out there. Just my humble opinion. i can understand what you are saying. sometimes you do have to stay in constant contact with joey for things to be done the way you want them. But you have to understand how many books and customers he has. andy, by himself, gave joey over 100 books. thats one guy. a lot of people use his services every week. You may receive better communication with other people, but, even though joey doesn't talk much, i trust him completely. he could mail in submissions like other but he takes time out of his already busy schedule to drive books to cgc to personally hand them submissions. he did forget to check the prescreen box, very understandable. like i said previously, he probably tried to make it up to andy, i dont know but i wouldnt throw it past him. Being busy is no excuse. I trust the other presser I work with completely. That goes without saying. Joey is making a lot of money and good luck to him. I just prefer to go elsewhere. There just doesn't seem to be any constructive criticism of his business model on here - at least publicly anyway. You mean aside from yours. What you are so kindly bringing to others attention is nothing new. I have had many of my customers tell me that I need to keep the lines of communication open. Being a one man show I just do not have the bandwidth to field all the PM's and emails I get on a daily basis. I try and every now and then one or two fall between the cracks. That’s why I revamped the website. Currently the website allows each submitter to create an account and be able to track the changing status on their books. Until recently the function was not operating, it is all turned on now. You will now be able to see where your books are in the system starting this week. I have also created a new email account so I can track and store correspondence easier. While not perfect fixes, they are a step in the right direction until I can train help to assist in the paperwork and updates that are needed each and every day. I make mistakes…eventually everyone does. In your case of not properly checking fast track on the CGC form, I have nothing else to say but I am sorry about it. I do not remember the exchange so I cannot follow up on it. If you would be kind enough to remind me I will take a look into it and see what I can do. I do try to make everyone happy; sadly at times, I fall short. Moving forward cfpcomics.com will have all the functionality you will need to see where your books are in the system. I am working on adding other features, but they will have to be down the line a little bit.
  10. ahhhh, damn man. that sucks. let me know which slabs you cant sell. i have some that wont sell, moderns with 9.0-8.5's. we can trade our losses That is not entirely true. Andy was well aware of the tier that was selected. I sent in scans of the invoices. If he wanted a pre-screen that would have been the time to ask me to check the box.
  11. I no longer take advantage of any SS opportunities because of this. I have seen it take the better part of a year for some people to get their SS books or sketches back. In part the blame rests with the artist since it sometimes takes months for him to complete his work. I believe the facilitator has little power to speed up the process once the artist has been paid in full. In the past I have complained about the payment up front method. Really gives the artist no incentive to get things done in a timely manner. If they were given a drop dead date and payment is broken up into 2 chunks it would give the facilitator a little more control over TAT's on the sketches and signatures. As of this moment I do not believe any guidelines exists based on the different factors involved in running an artist down getting them to mail back the books in a timely fashion and then get them into CGC's hands. U Given the proliferation of facilitators and those offering private signings and sketch opportunities a simple set of rules should exist. Or at the very least updates to let everyone know what is going on. Right now I have over $400.00 tied up in two sketches and I have no idea what is going on. In one of the cases, it is well over 3 months with zero communication. The last PM I received about it was asking me for payment, ater that nothing.
  12. What does the back cover look like? From the front it should be at least a 9.4 or even a 9.6.
  13. 4 copies exist in 9.8. 2 of the 4 deserve the grade. This one is the clear leader with no defects.
  14. IIRC black inks do not show up under balck light. If it is paint...maybe. Black CT is usually spotted by feel or your eye.
  15. Have dealt with Jeremy on a few transactions. Pays quickly and is a good guy to deal with.
  16. My last value tier fast track books took 28 business days. I have a small submission that arrived at CGC on 1/25/2013. Lets see how long this one takes.
  17. Will scan when I pick the books up. 002 Incredible Hulk 215 9/77 Marvel Comics 35 Cent Price Variant Universal 9.2 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE 003 Incredible Hulk 216 10/77 Marvel Comics 35 Cent Price Variant Universal 9.2 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE 004 Incredible Hulk 213 7/77 Marvel Comics 35 Cent Price Variant Universal 9.2 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE 005 Incredible Hulk 214 8/77 Marvel Comics 35 Cent Price Variant Universal 9.4 OFF-WHITE TO WHITE
  18. I remember asking that no new sales threads be started the weekend we were having the auctions for Nik and his family. I got skewered by a few via PM saying "How dare I". If they could not keep from starting new slaes threads to honor the death of a respected and loved board member, what chance does the VCC stand.
  19. Has anyone noticed any movement on books on Saturday? I have a lot of invoices in the system and have not seen any changes for the past few weekends.
