  1. I applaud your efforts in this Mike. But at this point your visits are the equivalent of putting a bandaid on a shotgun wound. CGC really needs to step up and get someone who understands not only QC, but QC in relation to the comic industry. I am hesitant to use the word laughable, but I think the conversation is only one more upside down book away from that.
  2. Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought you needed a permit to film in most cities.
  3. Didn’t you know that everyone becomes a pressing “master” the second they set up their press.
  4. That, I am not sure of. The only stickers I have dealt with were added by a third party individual.
  5. No amount of pressing with get a book to 9.8 that has defects that keep it from getting the 9.8. The wear a book has is what limits the grade, not how good the press was.
  6. Having re-read the original post, it may be how the book sits in the case.
  7. Are you talking about the Mis-wrap, check the outside edge (not the spine) to make sure it is even. If it is, it’s not a mechanical error and the way the book was made.
  8. Golden Age books do get preferential treatment. I have seen copper books get as high as 9.2 with very light dust shadows. Obviously the more severe the lower the grade.
  9. If it is a tear, stain, water damaged, ink rub, color breaking or faded a press won’t help.
  10. I started selling on these boards with $1.00 books. I sold tens of thousand of books (long boxes at a time) that way. It started slowly, but once it got going I was getting requests for books. Try selling a few books with nice scans and see where it goes.
  11. I seem to remember a 30 day period, but that rule could have been amended.
  12. I had a sales thread that lasted a little over a month. Sent out invoices when it was done. Someone took a book in the thread as an . Noticed not too long after that right around the time I sent the invoice that he edited the post to “canceled”. I understand the sale went for almost a month, but does that give someone the right to cancel the sale after claiming the book? And…nothing but radio silence after I PM’d with payment info.
