  1. I didn’t think we had too much wind this storm, but we had tons of old growth oak go down all over the place. Granted, there could have been isolated gusts or even small tornadoes, but trees we have admired for the past two years as we drove by them are now gone. The 2017 storm left us without power for 9 days. We had duke and felt they were the worst when it came to repairs. They must have made major upgrades to the old grid we lived in, as no one in that community lost power this storm.
  2. Finally calming down. Although it was very windy earlier today.
  3. The Saint John’s River flows very slowly. Runs South to North and is infamous for flooding days after a major event.
  4. As long as you are OK, Mike. I never understood why power line’s are not buried in this state. I have seen one tree take out power to thousand in certain neighborhoods. Our area, which was built between 2-5 years ago had all the lines buried. We all have power despite down trees everywhere.
  5. Waiting to hear from the folks closer to the coast. The west coast got hit hard.
  6. Looks like the worst is behind us. Aside from tons of rain and a little bit of howling wind we have no damage.
  7. That would put the islands and keys off the west coast completely underwater. 😩
  8. Moisture and water damage also glows under black light. I rely more on my eye and feel now.
  9. Possible CAT 5 and estimates have the central part of Florida possibly getting 2 feet of rain.
  10. Bleaching agents and high intensity UV light exposure. What could go wrong.
  11. Looks like it is now tracking to hit land around Sarasota/Tampa. Everyone at CGC, please stay safe. All other board members in the area, please follow direction and make your accommodations as storm worthy as possible.
  12. are all the comics in the main building?
  13. CGC’s faculty is secure. Obviously a direct hit could be catastrophic but, for the moment, the storm is tracking north and west of Sarasota. We have had a lot of rain the last month in central Florida. My fear is localized flooding since the outer bands dump a lot of rain and it appears we will be hit by that edge of the storm.
  14. It’s up to you to declare the value when shipping. CGC determines what the book is worth by the value you put on the submission form. I have seen some of my customers put $20 down on a $200 book to save on return shipping. If the book gets damaged by CGC you would get $20.00. Same is true with Any of the carriers. Personally, I max out the insurance for each tier.
  15. Yep. Should have been 9.4/9.6. Instead received 9.0. I have the before scans in case CGC is wondering. Even have the original eBay listing images.
  16. Do you really think this will happen (or happen quickly) with the new management at CGC?
  17. CGC is most likely Missing it. Which will embolden people to go the next step to see if CGC catches it. The guy doing the micro-trimming was doing very well until…
