  1. If CGC uses the same process to encapsulate books that Voldy uses (I have seen Voldy in action), I am amazed more junk doesn't make it into the cases, as nothing is done in what I would consider a clean environment.
  2. Not SCS. There is a tear on the outside edge of the book and everything lays flat. This damage, based on my professional opinion looks like it was damaged and then pressed. While you are at it Mike, you can let QC know about this book that was dropped while at CGC. I do have the scans of the book before submitting it. And no, it is not the result of a poor pressing job.
  3. I don’t see this as a c-link issue, I see it more as a CGC issue. The holder should, at a minimum, be able to protect the book during shipping and long term storage. Yet, we continue to see the inner well damaging books in both cases.
  4. All depends on the glue or adhesive. Some are water based, most are not. In my line of work I find alcohol rarely helps remove most tape/sticker residue. I have already posted what works best for me.
  5. Seriously doubt it is SCS due to the fact everything lays flat.
  6. Having worked on hundreds of these books, I see a lot of the same issues all the time, which lends me to believe they are considered production related by CGC.
  7. The white looks like you lifted some of the ink off. Is the area raised?
  8. I think many believe they will get a better discount if they say it’s going into their private collection. I have been told that more times than I care to remember, only to see the book sold to another board member or on an auction site weeks later.
  9. Werewolf By Night #32 CGC 8.0 OW/W Pages $1,800.00
  10. Fantastic Four #67 CGC 9.0 White Pages $1,500.00
  11. All sales final Consider all books pressed. No returns on CGC slabs, so please ask questions. No one on any lists. Shipping is included in CONUS. Payment by check is preferred but not mandatory. First gets it. I go by timestamp on PM's and posts in the thread. I allow via PM for those that like to keep things private.
  12. We will see. I basically can sell it slabbed for 60% of what I paid for it raw.
  13. CGC may be damaging books, but Voldy is losing them outright.
  14. Now I see why it got a 9.0. Nice new impact dent to the corner that was not there when I purchased the book, when I pressed it and when it was sent in.
  15. I submitted two books. Same issue, basically the same grade with exception of one book having a small spine break. That was it. Book 1 was 9.8 as expected. Book 2 was 9.0 with notes stating bends to the bottom corner of the book. Was expecting 9.4/9.6. I will post scans when they arrive.
  16. CGC has been hitting this hard. Even slight rub is bringing books down 2-3 grades.
