  1. Based on what I saw at the other grading company, the encapsulation room was where the final QC took place. Then again this was 3 years ago and things may have changed.
  2. All spine tics can be removed, but color breaks, if present, will remain.
  3. You will get dinged for sure. Is it front and back?
  4. The short answer is yes, if the person doing the work knows what they are doing.
  5. A proper pressing can remove all the ripples and waves from the moisture damage. Pressing won't remove any color breaks, but can greatly reduce any due to the white cover. As mentioned, discoloration will not go away.

    Custom Labels

Is it possible for CGC to have a check box added to the website that turns off custom labels? I never select them, and am growing weary of being asked 100 times on a 100 book submission. Takes up lots of time answering no. Thanks.
  7. Dry cleaning will take care of that, if it’s dirt or color rub. A press after the dry cleaning will make sure everything lays flat.
  8. You have economy fast track back from 07/01/2021? I wonder what excuse they have for not having my books from 4/28/2021 not done yet.
  9. Not to dump on anyone or their book, but… I would have had a hard time calling this an 8.0 without the moisture issue on the back cover. The tear may be a production issue and IMO was given a pass. It does present very well in the slab.
  10. The best part of it is having a valid covid test(negative results) within 72 hours of departure. It takes 48-72 to get most of the results back. I had to call to expedite my test, otherwise I doubt I would have had the results in time.
  11. I have fast track economy from 4/28 that still haven’t left SFG. What????
  12. Yes, but you will take a hit for the ink loss done by aggressive erasing.
  13. I was under the impression it was always the highest graded cover that was placed on the label. Pulling the top cover off a DC book, would only result in a single cover book. Unless the submitter left enough paper for the graders to see the remnants of the second label, it should not garner a "Q" label.
  14. All depends on the type of paper and where on the book.
  15. It probably had the right defects. Not uncommon for a huge jump in grade like this to happen if a large non-color bend or crease is removed.
  16. I have only seen one other poster, who has said so little using so many words.
  17. I could have been cut that way to begin with. Was common on silver age books.
