  1. Before it would have been universal. Now it will be conserved because it was wet washed.
  2. Very. Sorry for bashing, but CGC was in a good mood that day.
  3. Looks more like some light ink transfer and dirt. Might be some foxing mingled in there, but need better close ups for that to be confirmed.
  4. 8.0 was my initial thought as well. Always loved this cover, always will.
  5. You could use a store to facilitate, but it is always best to submit directly to CGC yourself. Saves time and a lot of headaches.
  6. My opinion would be no. I don’t see a lot that a dry clean and press will improve to make it worth it.
  7. CPRing yellow labels is a tiny, tiny fraction of my work. The only real impact it will have on me is knowing my loyal customers will have to go elsewhere.
  8. The reason they stopped is not just based on keeping everything in-house. Too many self-entitled wanna be pressers and facilitators were calling CGC and asking why some were allowed, and other were not allowed to CPR yellow labels. It got to be too much and CGC made an executive decision. I don't blame them TBH...but, as in most cases, the few ruin it for the many. You can thank many of the Facebook pressing groups for this change in events.
  9. I may be interested in one if the immortal hulks. Nice submission.
  10. It may seem that way, but they have to care at some level. Things happen. They always will happen. With the sudden astronomical surge in submissions CGC is likely being crushed by the weight of their own success. It’s times like this you either adapt and make the necessary changes, or at least communicate what will be happening for the foreseeable future. They are trying by hiring and training new ones and adding additional package tracking to the website. That creates its own churn, and until that churn subsides, things will appear worse before they actually get better.
  11. An empty box is the same as a mailer. For a box to be effective it has to be FULL of packing materials. Can't tell you how many boxes I get, with books just flopping away in the empty cavern, because the submitter couldn't be bothered to even add newspaper to keep the box from getting crushed.
  12. You, for sure. Me, I am a pariah. Unfortunately for CGC it is difficult to keep people once they have been educated in the way of the comic force. You hire someone to do a service and learn about the processes only to lose many of them as they now go on their own, buying and selling comics. Who wants to work a full time job when you can make the same or more, part time, and never have to answer to anyone but yourself.
  13. I want to add one more “quality”. They need to hire “qualified” quality control people. Throwing warm bodies at a problem never fixes it, unless you are just looking to fill a stadium. These need to be individuals who understand each step of the process, and maybe have to do one last visual check against what a properly graded and labeled copy of that book should look like before the book gets released.
  14. The funny thing is you will never know if it could have been “nicer”.
