  1. This. I had a 5.5 AF 15 signed by Stan that was Universal.
  2. See everyone tomorrow and Friday.
  3. 4 weeks is nothing. I have some sitting in GEI for months.
  4. This is just a hypothetical that I have been reflecting on. CGC is setting up a new facility. I wonder if they are diverting new moderns to this facility to help alleviate the strain on the main building? It would explain why only newer submissions are getting done so quickly as CGC will not move boxes that are already processed from one facility to another. Still doesn’t make it right that some of us have been waiting since April for moderns to get done, while others are getting books back that were sent in only a week ago.
  5. It almost seems that two different groups are grading books now.
  6. It was not. I do remember emailing a CS representative that certain boxes had walk-thru or express books in the past. I always provide a tracking number.
  7. Just had a magazine submission finished from 1/19.
  8. Walk-thru no longer has anything to do with time, it has more to do with value. CGC needs to rename certain tiers.
  9. I no longer see any rhyme or reason to how they are processing books (also heard about some weird new processing system. If this is something new they are testing, why not pull older Invoices instead of newer ones). While I would not want to be CGC at this moment, I do understand what it feels like to be overwhelmed with submissions. I am being as patient as I can while they look for misplaced invoices. When things like this have happened in the past the books always show up, that’s why I am not panicking yet.
  10. Take a clean piece of tissue paper and gently wipe over one of the areas. If there is transfer to the tissue it could be dirt. If it smudges it could be glue or tape residue.
  11. The first thing to do, is make sure they are dirt and not a part of the printing process.
  12. Foils can be pressed, but it is a very long and drawn out process compared to a regular modern book. A lot of pressing companies pass on doing foils because it is timely compared to other books, and it can go south very quickly if you are not paying attention.
  13. I literally got in a ton of books in April. I should be cleaned up of Aprils books in two weeks.
  14. I am pretty certain there will be some remnant. Once paper fibers are damaged you can get it flat but at certain angles you may still see where the damage was.
  15. Not much can be done at this point without a good chemical bath (even then no guarantees it will significantly improve). Based on previous submissions, CGC will hammer these books significantly. Especially since it looks like earlier attempts to clean it up just smeared it around. Its a shame really. But my advice is just sell these as is and buy nicer copies.
  16. Yes, it was a very enjoyable show. Almost made me forget about all the governmental requirements to get in and out of the country.
  17. Based on what I saw at the other grading company, the encapsulation room was where the final QC took place. Then again this was 3 years ago and things may have changed.
