  1. I don’t want to hinder the deal. If they pass let me know. I don’t think I can live with the writing in the 85, so the 87 would be the only book I am interested in.
  2. May I see some scans of these two? pending scans. 85 9.4 White Old Label $175 87 9.2 White $150
  3. Interesting. Mine have not moved and were submitted a week later.
  4. What tier? I have regular moderns from 1/19 graded but my modern pre-screens from that date are still received.
  5. They can be pressed. Make sure you send them to someone who has a track record of working on squarebounds. They are not like one and done moderns.
  6. At least two people "think" it may have upgrade potential. I did the same thing with a book I was outbid on last week, only I didn't go to eBay, I simply went to ComicLinks exchange and found the same book with better page quality for $234.00 less.
  7. Looks like 1.5 guide is the jumping off point these days. This is the only book I have won (and come close to final hammer price recently).
  8. Joey knows nothing about fixing spine rolls. Keep in mind this was just the spine roll removal...not the final press and clean.
  9. Especially if it was black ink. The black light is almost useless in detecting resto. Magnification and "feel" are what you rely on then. Since the book is encapsulated, neither of those options will work until it is cracked out.
  10. Based on real life experience, I am going to disagree with you. While it may be a fresh tear (which might be a major issue with a 9.8 modern) it can be folded back over and the rest of the book pressed which should keep it at the 7.5 grade.
  11. I understand the once bitten, twice shy approach to sending the book back in. Given the exposure the book already has, any organization would have to be completely inept for this to happen again.
  12. Before getting the torches and pitchforks ready wait and see what CGC’s reply is. Based on what I can see, everything that happened to the book can be undone.
  13. Understood, but an oversight on an almost 6 month sale requires some common sense. You may want to take it to PM with the seller.
  14. All depends on the severity. In some instances the seal from the bag acts like a saw blade and eats into the cover stock leaving vertical lines dug into the paper. Those are grade killers. The regular indents left by the polybag will press out nicely, if the person pressing knows what they are doing.
  15. Lately, CGC has been harsher on color rub compared to previous years. A lot of the modern books are made with such poor printing materials, that brand new books have color loss that occurs in regular shipping. Hie much of a ding is the unknown.
