  1. Well, at $8 per reject, it is not worth sending in a book anymore without getting it graded as a reject fee is now 45% of the regular modern grading cost.
  2. I’ll do my best, but this was just dumped in my lap. That what I get for not being on-line. Wow.
  3. Sounds like CGC wants to eliminate pre-screens. This may be phase 1 of that.
  4. My books were finalized this morning. What is interesting is I had moderns that were submitted the same day go to safe/shipped on 3/26. I picked them up on 3/30. So, in reality it was modern + 18 business days for me. My pass rate was 28/32 for 87.5%. A huge win these days, but low compared to my old average.
  5. Modern pre-screens are supposed to be whatever the regular modern submission is PLUS 10 business day? Is that still correct?
  6. A clean and press won’t help. Some areas have ink transfer and some have color rub that resulted in a loss of inks. The ink transfer will clean up, but the rest will not.
  7. Having cracked out my share of slabs i have found the edges of these inserts to be "rough" and not polished. I would imagine if they were smooth, damage like this would happen less frequently.
  8. Happened to me on one book (UF 4) and another dealer I know of had the same bump on one of his invoices. Looks like UF 4 is now on CGC's radar, as it should be.
  9. I’m going to go 8.0/8.5. I also see what appears to be light pebbling, which will impact the grade.
  10. In rare cases they will accommodate you. But, the clock is reset to when you make the change. At least that’s how it worked for me in the past.
  11. I feel your pain. Received: 1/20/21 Items: 7 Declared Value: 700 Service: PRESCREEN - MODERN Status: Scheduled for Grading
  12. I have an invoice submitted same day, same tier of service. Still sitting at SFG. wonder how much of a gap in time there will be between the two.
  13. Let me clarify further. A universal .5. Qualified would obviously be a higher grade.
  14. I can’t tell if it’s your lighting or if the books are slightly tanned.
  15. Most pressing companies will do a pre-screen for you if asked. Some charge...some don't for this service.
  16. 1. We need a picture of the book or an example of what you are talking about. 2. A mis-wrap cannot be fixed, as the book is already square and what you see is a result of the way the cover was manufactured. To remove that would be to ruin the book.
