  1. I wonder how this works with the signature books. i.e. 25 books (moderns) sent in on 8/9/2020 Books go SFG on 9/9/2020 A week before they are to be graded/encapsulated 2,000 new signature books get dumped ahead of them in the queue. Are regular books now "on hold" as as all the signatures get done? Once the sigs are all out the door the clock starts again on the regular moderns that were received on 8/9? Not complaining, just want to figure out the process and the realistic wait time.
  2. For a time, there was an organization lobbying for disclosure. The good old Network, or NOD for short.
  3. It would be very time consuming, but the spine roll would go away and the fraying/tearing/chipping along the edges would look worlds better.
  4. I had one good one where a guy sends me 5-6 key books with detached centerfolds. Asks if I can "get them " attached again. I said only real way was to tape the tear around the staples, bu CGC will treat the book as if the tape wasn't there, resulting in the same grade and notes. He proceeds to say that I misunderstood him. He wanted me to remove the centerfold, take the next wrap out. Put the centerfold back in out of order, and then the wrap where the centerfold should be. His reasoning...who follows the story or looks at page numbers. Needless to say I didn't do the work asked, but I did let CGC know of our conversation.
  5. I’ve had people ask me to take sandpaper to the outside edge of a book that looked too perfect. Even before it was confirmed to have been trimmed.
  6. Where I come from "clipped" means something very different.
  7. Why would you even post this? Other than attention, what is the reason behind it?
  8. Did you upset someone at CGC? These look better than the assigned grade.
  9. I haven't had a chance to work on any yet. It will be interesting to see what happens. The materials being used are not good for collecting, reading yes, but if you collect 9.8 and up, the quality of printing/distribution these days is making it very difficult to do so on certain exclusives.
  10. I always submit more than 25 books to pre-screen...they are not always the same invoice.
  11. Good question. I never really asked. But as a dealer I can only imagine I get a free pass on the 25 book minimum, as I submit thousand of books.
  12. Wonder what happens when you take the book out to look at it after a few months.
  13. Wonder if the in-house signings are getting dumped ahead of our books. I had regular moderns submitted the same day (9/9) and they were shipped out on 10/13. When did the last signing occur?
  14. Modern Pre-screen (16 books) Received 9/9/2020 SFG as of today. Roughly 34 business days in the queue so far. Value book received on 8/31/2020 are still sitting at received.
  15. "I am absolutely through with this community,..." NOT!
