  1. Reds and yellow usually fade away first. Your copy still has a lot of life left to the red. Additionally, you have one spot of bright yellow in the corner of the spotlight that makes it appear the yellow was never applied properly.
  2. If I had to garner a guess...I would say printing error.
  3. Fixing the spine roll and removing the dirt may get the grade bump. Again, heavy, not light tanning and possible brittle spine makes me leary of any attempt at a press.
  4. What is the page quality of the book? Appears to have heavy tanning, which could mean pages being slightly brittle. Spine also looks to have a lot of wear. Whoever works on this, if you do decide to have it cleaned and pressed, needs to have experience with these types of books. If not, you could wind up with a book with extensive water spots or a split spine.
  5. I'm going to go 6.0 after being cleaned up.
  6. So far I know 3 collectors who were bidding on this one book. Was aware of premiums on multiple sig books, but this is a strong price. Congrats to the seller.
  7. Considering this one sold for over $7,000.00 it is a good deal if you discount $1,025.00 for the other signatures.
  8. Only way to get true facts or evidence, is to submit it again, until then it is all hypothetical.
  9. And to answer your initial inquiry about upgrade potential...possibly. Keep in mind grading is a little tighter at the moment, so you could remove some sin and still retain the same grade, but it appears the mangled corner still has most of the paper present and a press could fix that.
  10. If pressed properly, the answer is no. Someone working on this book, who was not experienced pressing square bound books, could do more damage than good.
  11. Some serious narcissism displayed by the foo.
  12. One would think, but a slab that was submerged long enough would allow water to seep into the wells.
  13. The original Voldy slab could have the top clips carefully removed, the inner well slipped out and doctored and put back together with little to no indication of tampering.
