  1. That buyer beware thread will soon be on page 56, list to any on the boards, especially new ones. Being on the probation list will keep his name where it can easily be a reminder to all. I do agree with an adjustment period, but he kept defending his position with walls of text stating how he has rights too. I really have no dog in this fight , and would never buy or sell to him, but as many have stated the rules are the rules. Even agamoto knew enough to include them in his sales thread.
  2. Anyone else feel that Agamoto is deserving of being put on the probation list? Total nonsense from that guy.
  3. Many square bound books exhibit waviness in the holder. I have seen a lot of nice high grade (9.4/9.6) with waves. Not unusual.
  4. The right thing to do, is sell the book as the 9.2 for the original asking price. The rules are the rules. That’s why we have them, which results in very few selling/buying issues on the boards. If the rules are broken, the boards have a way of reminding others about a seller/buyers inability to complete a transaction.
  5. These “v” shaped spine creases are very tough to eliminate. The problem with some of them is they come back a little once a book has had the cover opened, like when the pages are counted. Not sure if CCS presses a book multiple times, But I see other issues that could have been removed entirely If the book was hit again.
  6. With some of the more modern books you need to double bag. Put the comic in a bag all by itself without the board. The place the bagged comic into another bag with a board or two. This will keep any ink loss to an absolute minimum. The newer inks can rub off very easily and CGC deducts for this.
  7. This was a book from a well known dealer who started pressing his own books.
  8. I lost a few too. Great thread with enough books to go around.
  9. The book can still clean up. A pressing doesn't magically make the dirt a part of the book.
  10. I would also recommend finding someone else to press your books.
  11. The dirt and rippling can be removed. Whether that results in a grade bump is up to CGC.
  12. Another one bites the dust. Some irreversible damage has been done (I can only imagine this would have graded higher if no pressing was done), but the warping and rippling can be removed by an experienced presser. Here is an example of a book butchered in a failed press attempt. Here is the same book after being pressed/cleaned/hydrated correctly.
