  1. I thought I'd update my group shot before some go back to the bank. The MM3, from Rick, is the only restored book. The 30 is pretty sharp with white paper. 26 and 36 are a couple of my favorites. I hope you like?

    i do NOT like--I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. hello all...

I have really fallen for the KDF...only been able to pick these 3 up so far, but they are neat!

here's my only Centaur; but being the completionist i am, i'm dying for man of war 2!

I've never heard of this title. confused.gif

ain't but two of them, and the prevailing wisdom is that the #2 is the last of all centaurs. i'm not an expert on this, tho'. Win? Steve?

Okay, I'll stop now. Sorry if I took up too much space. Thanks for indulging me.

oh my god!! i'd have tried to steal it a little harder if i had known it was the 'frisco!!!!!!!!

Okay, that cuts it! I will never post another book on this site ever again! People are trying to steal my books now! Watch out Bangzoom. It is dangerous around here!

worry not, bangzoom; your books are beautiful, but i'll risk jail time only over a Timely.

  4. Okay, I'll finally admit it....I was the undisclosed buyer of the Action #13 from Harley who, of course, acquired the book in Primetime's trade for his Tec #31. This copy has the "printing error" in the title logo, but it's not as distracting as one might think (actually looks like clouds in a blue sky to me! 893scratchchin-thumb.gif). The book's sharp colors, tight spine and great overall presentation more than make up for it IMO! cloud9.gif

My five-year search has ended...I'm just thrilled to have the 3rd highest graded copy yay.gif (at least, until Bangzoom slabs his...) gossip.gif

    Congrats Dino!! 893applaud-thumb.gif

be careful with that book around Billy Parker, he likes printing defects grin.gif

and i need an action! i'll take it; love the error.

  5. I posted this in General in the "what do you look like" thread, but thought my brothers and sisters in Gold would enjoy my daughter getting ready to read a couple of recent acquisitions..

that's my girl!!!!! pretty, yes; but i can beat her in a race running backward [that is, ME running backward].

Didn't she win last time? poke2.gif

i don't recall; at my age, my memory...

  7. Listers,

I took a couple of hours off and investigated this entire thread. Cool stuff gents.

Shockingly, not a single Subby #7. Is this book especially rare?

Anybody else got a copy? Condition?

    Regards,

    Pure Imagination

P.S. Have a scan but no idea how to post it from my computer. Help!

koko, here ya' go. but in case you like it, before saying so, be aware: IT'S A CRACKED AND RESUBBED 7.0!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaarggggggggh, aaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh. ok, i'm past that. and i really hate stealing the thunder of the sleuth-that-woulda-been that was going to find an old picture somewhere [i'm not sure it's anywhere, as i bought it at a chicago con and don't know where it was before] and be THE MAN of the minute. aw, i can't lie--i don't hate stealing his thunder. anyway, i bought the book with a botched spot of glue, had it reduced a good deal and resubbed it. so glad it went up. for all you that wouldn't buy the tainted p.o.s., be aware it will die with me and will therefore be my heirs problem.

  8. Tax refund... I wish.

This arrived this morning, form Comiclink! A grail off the list. The cover is a bit soiled, as is the interior, and there is some glue on the spine (at the staples) but its still totally readable, supple and complete!! I am totally excited about this one... its nice to see the battle in its original form (I have worn out my Fantasy Masterpieces reprint!).

I'm very happy with CLINK's grading ... seems bang on. Maybe the pages are a bit darker than described, but still nice and flexible. And their service was very good. Time payments, baby!! headbang.gif

    Marvel #9:

    1701547-MARVEL9Bpost.jpg

ryan, in this case, you say it GRAIL! way to go, sir.

  9. I noticed there is a 6.0 copy the Nic Cage copy on CLink right now. I have to say, that yours is superior in cover appearance which all that I have to go off of. Given the two as option, I would take yours at the same price. Not that I can afford to drop 80K on one, but If I could, it would be yours. Real nice book, it presents very well, and well its Marvel Comics 1 really don't have to say more than that.

the cage books had two mc 1's; i think the other was an october 5.0. i don't think either had ow/w pages, which i really love about mine.

    thanks again Paul.

  10. and one more, that just went up on the m.m. pedigree thread.

Billy, that copy is just incredible!!!

MARVEL #1 would have to be my ultimate , unattainable grail... if I were to sell ALL my books, I'd be lucky if I could get a 1.5 !! IF I could find one for sale!

The Frank R. Paul cover is one fo my golden age favorites...

As Surfer said, I'm not worthy ...

much appreciated Ryan. i've owned it over a decade now--i wouldn't be able to get this book today, so i'm very thankful indeed to have it. my ultimate grail as well.
