  1. naturally the lower graded red raven is mine. as nice as the books are, the thing i'm most excited about is the back of my head--i don't see it very often, and i'm so glad to know i'm not thinning!!

I told you that spray on stuff looked natural!

you'd know, since in high school your hairline was voted most likely to recede.

  2. A couple more pics from the 9th annual Timely Geek Fest............

Billy Parker, with a tough decision to make!

A group shot of Mr. Parker's beauties! He may come off as just a Timely guy

    but he's broadening his horizons.

paul, i have the 8 from this same collection; got the same little code and writing on it. i've got to go get it for the geekfest, and i'll try to remember to scan it to show you.

Sounds cool, do you know the provinance behind the collection? Please do post the book, would love to see it.

    Paul

here it is Paul; thanks to the 'net, they're back together after who knows how many years. i made it extra big so the writing could be seen really good.

  4. Wow Richard, I don't even know what to say. Those books are simply stunning! You have almost made me want to start collecting Timelys.

    Thanks Peter,

Timelys are pretty cool. But please wait until I and a few others are done. Besides, aren't there still some pre-hero DC you are looking for? Would love to see your collection in its entirety some day. Oh, and you couch, too!

yeah, Peter, we'd all like to see "you couch, too." teach you to make fun of my bad usage, bedrock-boy.

  5. 893whatthe.gifhail.gif and the MMC 30 are just GREAT covers.

What impresses even more about your books are the colors that are absolutely marvelous wink.gif893applaud-thumb.gif

I don't know how you can survive when those beauties are in transit. I'd be insane.gif all day waiting for them crazy.gif

They actually came 2nd day so I had two days of pins and needles.

As for the colors, I will be honest, while color and page quality are important to me, we have a pretty good scanner and sometimes

I think it pumps up the volume on its own!

he lies; they are prettier in person. i've geeked on them many a time, and will do so once again, with relish, this weekend.

  6. Thanks all. Like I said, I was pretty happy pulling this one outta the box.

    I think I said, "YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

i want to know why it's only a 9.0. i'll check it out REAL good in about 6 days.

Cause of that time you took it out of the mylar, and........................

no one was in the room with me when that happ.., i mean, i don't know what you're talking about.

  7. In the same package....

A little disappointed in the grade, but I bought this book over thirty years ago (it was my first Golden Age key!) so I don't think I will be hurt financially. It should make us painfully aware that Restoration (in all its forms) has been around since the first comic was bought off the stands with a bent spine. Are the Angel stories reprinted in the Sub-Mariner Archives HC from Marvel? Cause the Angel story in here is way better than the Subby stories.

y'all compare this 6.5 to that superboy 7.0 on the other thread. goodness gracious.

  8. hey tarzan geek, i heard MrBedrock has been treating you just like he treats all his customers. don't know that i'd call it a 'treat,' tho'.

Hey Parker, you couldn't possibly be referring to the fact that I often get "the raw end of the stick" in my dealings with MrBedrock, could you?

more like the 'short end,' huh?

  9. Here's a little something for the Tarzan fans in the group. AllStoryOct1912GA.jpg

    That's just AWESOME!!! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Thanks so much for sharing ...
