  2. Hey All, Once again, with San Diego Con 6 weeks away, I am looking for consignments for the show. Been in business for 43 years and I’ve been exhibiting at the show for over 40 years, and do extremely well there. I’m looking for Comic Book art from the 1940s - 2000s and Newspaper Strip art from the 1920s - 1960s. My commission is competitive with auction houses and other dealers. For more info, ask for my Consignment Agreement or contact me at 845 246-0952 or email mitkowitz@hvc.rr.com Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. Best, Mitch Itkowitz/Graphic Collectibles

  7. I don’t know. I think the IRI collection is actually someone’s collection. There are too many pieces I recognize to think it’s a debt collection agency. MI
  8. Hey All, I am offering, for the first time, a Golden Age Jack Kirby cover. This is the cover for Star-Spangled Comics #7, the first appearance of the Guardian and the Newsboy Legion. Dated April 1942, the cover was likely drawn in early 1942, only a month or 2 after the U.S. entered WWII. Penciled and inked mostly by Kirby, with additional inks by Simon, this cover is a rarity as not many Kirby DC covers are on the market. Click HERE to see the cover and information. The cover will be available for only a short time. If interested, please contact me. Most of the stats remain, with only the DC bullet and part of the stat at the bottom missing. The whiteness in the middle is from a flash when the art was photographed. Very nice condition it's 77 years old. Any Questions? Please call 845-399-7312 or email at mitkowitz@hvc.rr.com Thanks for looking and have a nice weekend. Best, Mitch Itkowitz Graphic Collectibles

  10. It seems that Kirby had an intern in the late 60s/early 70s named Rob, who now lives here in Saugerties. Rob gave these drawings to a friend here who recently passed away. The friends girlfriend is selling these drawings to help pay off debt for the passed boyfriend. She is taking the art down. I asked for Rob’s last name. An intern indeed. MI
  11. Oddly enough, the seller lives in my town. I’ve just sent a note detailing why the Thor and Captain America are fakes. I suspect I’ll get spit upon. MI

  17. Interesting story about GL #86. DC found the complete books for GL #86 and Batman #255 (The Werewolf) in mid 1981. I was Giordano's art dealer at the time and received the back half of each book. Then, at the 1981 Creation Con over Thanksgiving weekend, Neal corned me and asked if I would trade him back for both halves of the books. Now, I think I MIGHT have sold a page from each book, but memory fails me. So, after the beginning of 1982, I traded Neal the pages from the 2 books, as well as the remaining pages from the Superman-Muhammed Ali book. Years later, when Neal was on his rampage about all his work being stolen, we had a talk and I reminded him that years before, we had traded, so that he should have most, if not both stories complete. He mentioned that he didn't, and if that's the case, pages were pilfered from his studio between those years. MI
