  1. I know what I sold it for. It will be interesting to see what the final price is.
  2. Except that artists didn’t receive art back till sometime 1975. Probably around 1976 is when 2 pages went to the artists.
  3. Don’t know about noises trees make when they fall, but the art was on my site, and I did post here and sent an email blast. Not my fault you didn’t see it.
  4. Where were you guys when I had the Steranko for sale?
  5. Writers used to receive 2 pages from every book they wrote. This started in the late 70s and ended in the early 80s. The alternate every other book with the inker never happened.
  6. This was in Charlie Crane’s collection. It’s been for sale in auction before. forgot which auction however.

  8. And I’m at least 10-14 years older than you. Exhibiting at SD for over 40 years can take a lot of someone. Mike, let’s see your attitude when you’re exhibiting as long as me. 😁 But I’ll be back at a friends booth in the 1800 aisle. With hopefully a nice selection of stuff as I’ve had these last 40+ years.
  9. After The book was published, I would have to enter the Witness Protection Program.
  10. Thanks for the kind words. Except it’s not libel and defamation if it’s true. And now I’m a dinosaur.
  11. If there are no comparables, how can you say you think the prices are 50% higher than they should be? Is that an opinion or a statement?
  12. Between 10 and 15% depending on the value/price of the art.
  13. Thank you, Mark. Look forward to hearing from you. M
  14. Good Afternoon All, Well, that didn't last long. Thanks to all who reached out to me with their support. I gave up my booth at SD in December, and no way was I getting it back. I was fine with my decision. However, my dear friend, the talented and lovely Dan Herman, co-owner of Hermes Press would have none of this nonsense of me not exhibiting at SD. So, he has offered me a small area of his double booth to exhibit art, and has set me up to share a hotel room. What do say to a guy like that? THANKS! of course. So I'll be set up in booth 1821 with Hermes Press. Once again, I'll need your consignments for the show. Think of this as an early warning. I'll be back early June to bother you all about consignments for the show. Next week, the web site will be updated with a selection of Frank Miller Sin City art that has not been offered in the past. Always looking for consignments. Thanks for looking and have a nice weekend. Best, Mitch Itkowitz Graphic Collectibles
  15. The comics were all in a dark room with a single lightbulb in that warehouse. The art was in a separate office. You weren’t allowed to go through the art before the auction. Comic and art were auctioned separately as 2 lots.
  16. I want to say somewhere between $25,000 to $50k. But time has not been kind.
  17. I remember it being stacked on shelves. the comics were on pallets
  18. “Traded” is the same as “sold”? Uh, no. no cash trades hands. You take art from me in exchange of art from you. So if someone traded for $100,000 of art at San Diego. That is not a sale! Not until the art is sold.
  19. That’s incorrect. All the art was auctioned all as one lot.
  20. The things I have seen! ill write that book after I die. 😜
  21. Yup, Mike bought it from me. Only had it several months before he decided to resell it. And that frame? Yeesh!
