Miller Dark Knight Cover Spotted at NYC comicon
artdealer replied to Stan Singh's topic in Original Comic Art
Doesn’t he have a placard on the table? -
Harry, its your art. Do with it as you want. my opinion is it would never be in my collection, knowing what I do about that pig.
-
Maybe, but he still is a pig

The odds of me ever selling anything to Jim Lee are quite slim. -

No pegged value. i sold the original several years ago and the owner loaned it to Frank for the show. -
That piece of art would be in the trash, if it were me.

If an artist/writer wants to aspire to being an A.S.S.H.O.L.E, then go for it. It doesn't mean anyone has to support then, unless they choose to. Plenty of nice, level-headed artists/writers to support out there. #comicsgate. Too many people with too much time on their hands. MI

What is the best auction venue for comic book art?
artdealer replied to M-F0uRce99's topic in Original Comic Art
Or consider consigning them to me. I've been in the business for over 40 years. Send me a PM for more info. Mitch Itkowitz Graphic Collectibles -
Good Afternoon All, Two very cool originals have been consigned to me, and once again, a special email blast is sent. First up, the cover for The Atom #37 by Gil Kane and Sid Greene from 1968. When was the last time you've seen an Atom cover for sale? Here's a hint.... never. To my knowledge, the only other Atom cover is #36. I'm selling comic art for over 42 years, and haven't seen another cover out in the wild. If I'm wrong, please provide proof. Lot's of interior pages, only 2 covers. And it's the last Gil Kane Atom cover. Issue 37 cover was drawn by Sekowsky. Some whiteout on the Atom's head. And it's the first appearance of Major Mynah! Click HERE for more information. Next up, is another special original, but for a different reason. Robert McGinnis is one of the best known illustrators in the world. Known for his paperback covers, magazine illustrations and movie posters, and for his beautifully painted women. McGinnis has painted several movie posters for the James Bond movies and the few originals and preliminary paintings that have surfaced over the years have become treasures for collectors. I am offering a painting by McGinnis of James Bond in a scene from Dr. No. This painting was commissioned in 2005 by a collector of James Bond epherema, including art. Originally painted to be produced as a limited edition print, sadly, never saw print. But this is a James Bond painting, by Robert McGinnis! Click for more information For more information, or to purchase either of the originals, please email me at mitkowitz@hvc.rr.com or call me at 845-246-0952. All art is sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Paypal will only be accepted as a family payment. Best, Mitch Itkowitz Graphic Collectibles

Fromm is quite possibly the biggest scumbag out there. The stories I could tell you would curl your hair. MI

Yes.

"Fresh to market" always makes a difference. Selling comic art for 42 years, I think I'm in a better position than most to make this statement. Collections like David Mandel's are always going to sell high. But nothing in David's collection would be considered "fresh to market". "Fresh to market" only pertains to art that has not been on the market for at least 20 years. MI

The San Francisco Art Exchange was selling the Vargas art for the family.
-
Possibly from one of the remaining family members of the Vargas family. They have/had quite a treasure trove of art. MI

Price was $23,000 at San Diego. Consignor took it back immediately after the show to put in CL.
-
Yup, I had it for sale at San Diego this year.

The COA is essentially worthless.

Ron Frenz Pencil Prelims to ASM #252 cover for sale
artdealer replied to PhilipB2k17's topic in Original Comic Art
How would the rep know. The art was done years before the rep was repping Frenz. Or, would one of your conspiracy theories be that all reps should know every single piece of art the artist drew, otherwise it's not legit? -

Wait! Is your new conspiracy theory that dealers can't/don't collect art? -
