  1. A great buy for a buck! (thumbs u Andy
  2. That was my way of thinking for the second half of my collecting career, as waiting for high grade copies wasn't fun when you only get one comic a year. Patience is fine and dandy, but if you don't have it and you want it...buy it and upgrade later. (thumbs u Andy
  3. Still better than mine. (thumbs u Andy
  4. I love them!!!! Thanks Shep! That #80 just made my day. Andy
  5. I thought it was pink covers and war comics. Very nice set of books -- a Heath, a Kubert and a Grandenetti! You could be right and I do remember saying that with OAAW 85 coming to mind and I know I love the green colors DC used on their war books. The black and yellow that was combined on OFF 25 is stunning. The more I think about there are not many color combinations on DC war books I don't enjoy. Thanks for the compliments on the Showcase 45 you guys and I've been looking for un upgrade for over three years now. I'm normally not a slabber of books and would love to one day own that book in a CGC 8.0 to 9.0 Slab. Of course I would never sell my cherished undercopy. My first BIG money book at a whopping 70.00 about four years ago. I sure hope our friend Jeff has time this weekend to step this thread up a notch if that's even possible lately. I love these boards and this thread Rocks!! Did somebody mention pink covers? My students often ask me what my favorite color is; and, to their astonishment, I unflinchingly tell them pink. I take great pleasure in punching holes through preposterous antiquated gender stereotypes. And though, in truth, I don't really care either way about colors, I have no problem admitting that some of my favorite covers of ALL time are of a pink motif. Here're just a few: Ask me the questions, bridge-keeper. I'm not afraid! WHAT. . .is your name?? Sir Big-five-alot! WHAT. . .is your quest?? To seek as many DC war comics holy grails as can be had. WHAT. . .is your favorite color? The sublime pink on GI Combat 99. . .no the green on All American M. . .Augggghhh!!! Ooohwowowooooooohooohooohooooohohohooooo! Arghghgghghhghghghghg!!!!!! Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....
  6. I've got a lot of different war books, and that's one that I don't have. Very nice! (thumbs u Andy
  7. For a non-Salida or non-Newsboy, it's amongst the nicest there are. This one ain't anything to sneeze at either. This is definitely the nicest copy of this book that I've seen. Sweet! Andy
  8. Now those books are INCREDIBLE!!! Thanks for posting, Mick! Andy
  9. I'd rather have no deadbeats. Buyer beware is correct...proceed with caution...list or no list. Andy
  10. Nice books for sure! Not so sure that they need any upgrading though. Thanks Fay! (thumbs u Andy
  11. 1st Pooch, Shep? Nice book, bud! (thumbs u Andy
  12. Here's one of my favorites with great greens, graytone and all. It's also a Lichtenstein source book. (No, NOT my copy -- swiped from Heritage. Maybe one of you owns this one. Mine's not terrible, but it's stashed away in storage.) Jack Anyone know how to get saliva out of a keyboard, or just let it air dry? Great books as well, Fay and Troop! (thumbs u Andy
  13. Quality Comix has my number too. Not intended, buddy! Andy
  14. I've only heard you say this about 5 times now, so, yeah, I've got the idea. All joking aside, I believe the war comics part. If someone wants the book more than me, they'll get it. If I want it more than them, I'll get it. If I'm meant to get it, I will. Simple. Andy
  15. Fay, what kind of magic are you using to keep this book standing straight? Great, great books, nonetheless! Andy
  16. Love it, kagemusha7s!!!! (thumbs u Is this a British pence version? Andy
