  1. I didn't get any of the GIC's, they went for more than I was willing to spend. The 108 is a nice book to have in decent shape, but that one was Fine or Fine + and usually this book doesn't go for too much, even though it's a semi-key. I believe that this guy had great success due to having an assortment of great books. It looks like the success of the good material also bumped up his sales on the average books as well. Good for him! Andy
  2. Thanks Fay! I was happy to win those AAMOW's, and I ended up getting a dinosaur book for my maximum bid. I bid on almost every one of those G.I. Combat's and that's where I'm shaking my head. Some of those books looked very nice, and they went for solid prices. That guy had a very nice selection and too bad for him that he listed them under Bronze Age. I just stumbled across them this morning. The guy's grading seemed spot on, even very harsh at times. I'm sorry to bid against Shep on a few books, but it's all fair game in the world of war comics. Andy
  3. When I want to buy some of these nicer DC war books, I have to stop looking in the Overstreet. I'm getting a very good idea of what these books are going for, but everytime I pull out the overstreet and place a bid on eBay, my bids aren't high enough to win the item. I look at the final price and look at the book and say, damn, I would've paid that much for that book, and I didn't win it because I felt compelled to consult my trusty overstreet. Argggggh! Andy
  4. Yup, nice book! I wouldn't wanna meet that guy in the jungle! Andy
  5. I did. The only good thing I've done in my life. After getting that collection, did you find that you now have a couple of nice doubles that will be available? Andy
  6. Real men would punch each other a couple times, then have a few beers and talk about football or something, and it would be all over - back to being best buds. Don't know about the buttock part though..., Yeah, but a lot of "different" things happen in middle America.
  7. Maybe he did and you never got the PM. Yeah your PMs seem broke. also. Kudos to Transplant for having a sense of humor!!!! (thumbs u The kudos thread is a separate thread.
  8. (thumbs u Sweet books. Start a GIC Registry Set Andy. I've thought about it, but that's just more money that doesn't go towards the accumulation of more books. Can anyone present a case for having a registry set? Andy
  9. Either complete the deal or don't complete the deal, guys. I've dealt with both of you and you are both stand up guys in my books. This doesn't need to get any nastier than it already has. I'm sure if you move on, others will as well. To me, this is a non-issue and I'd still be happy to deal with both of you. Andy
  10. I read this three times, and the irony just beckoned me to post... I have tried to be patient, but your sheer arrogance and hypocritical posting in this thread is just wrong. Now, would you like to explain not only why you have ignored my invoice sent on 10/29 for the books you BIN’d, but why you have not responded to the four reminders I have sent just requesting your shipping information and preferred method of payment? ya know, before we get to probation level or whatever garbage you are spouting?
  11. Ah, what a great sale that was! No intent to SPAM, however. I saw this discussion thread and thought that it would be okay to discuss my sales thread at the time by mentioning lower prices. JC Andy
  12. All great books, guys! Shep, on photobucket.com you click on the little box by your picture to select any photos that you want to change into thumbnails. After that, there's a button at the bottom of the page that says "Generate HTML and Image tags", click it. After that, the 3rd box down says "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended", copy and paste the info from there. The G. I. Combat's from 70 to 90 are certainly smoking. It seems to make a HUGE difference that these are CGC graded though. I believe that true fine copies of these #'s are great books to own, but going for 6-8x guide? That's just silliness. This Keith Marlow collection coming on the market has pushed me into buying quite a lot his books. I'm not sure how often these collections come up in this kind of shape, but I'd rather pay lots now than paying more later. Oh, and I'm not a buyer for any of those GPA setting books. Andy
  13. I found that I did very well in that auction for some books that flew under the radar. Here's one that cost me $107.55 http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=17113&Lot_No=17298#Photo And this one cost me $42.00 http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=17113&Lot_No=17014#Photo How about this daddy for $77.68 http://comics.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=17113&Lot_No=17397#Photo
  14. I think that a true FN for FN price is decent enough. Not really a deal, though. These books start to get tough once over that FN grade. Andy
  15. While the dinosaur issues were definitely my least favourite, I am enjoying the DC Showcase collection The War that Time Forgot, in small, small doses. They're pretty zany, that's for sure, and good for a laugh. Nice books, by the way. (thumbs u Andy
  16. Thank you very much, Transplant! It was a pleasure taking your money. Did I just say that out loud? Seriously though, thanks. (thumbs u Andy
  17. May I ask, is that an example of a non-color-breaking crease? Or does that crease break the color? And I'm assuming that it's a printer's defect.... Still, a beautiful book, Buck! Andy
  18. Just put my cheap books even cheaper. Have a look! Andy (thumbs u http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=56&Number=2009934&Searchpage=1&Main=110184&Words=+thirdgreenham&topic=0&Search=true#Post2009934
  19. And thank you sir, I was meaning on letting you know that they arrived safe and sound! (thumbs u Andy
