  1. Thanks bud, glad you like it! (thumbs u Andy
  2. It's really getting out of hand. Four years ago, I got a very nice GIC #97 in CGC 7.0 for... wait for it.... $50. Sigh.... Those are beautiful books just the same. Shep Wanna double your money, Shep?
  3. I have no succession plan in place as of now. I'm married with no children and now you've made me decide to get a will drawn up. Actually, long overdue... I'm guessing that everything would go to my wife. She knows that my books have value, and I've told her before not to take them to the local comic store. She always threatens to do that if she's mad. She's only kidding though.....I hope. I'll probably have to grade everything and have them properly labeled.....sheesh, I guess I should do that anyway, no? I'll have to bag and board them too. After all of that work, I'll leave instructions on perhaps getting in touch with Heritage. Dunno. EBay is fine, but a lot of work for the young lady. Grim, but we all go at some point. Andy
  4. That's an interesting question I never thought of before and I have no kids and a small family. Since I'm so old I'd probably give instructions to my better half for him to send the books to one of the young war collectors on the boards if they wouldn't mind my mostly VF/NM or lower collection of war books. Either that or donate them to the Canadian Armed Forces and that way each Soldier could have one book.
  5. Don't you dare put that thing in the casket with you! At least let your boy bring it in and sell it to me....
  6. I, as many others do, love high grade books. But it's hard to not like a run of books in Fine 6.0 condition. Oooh boy! If I could ever get my early DC war books all up to the Fine grade, that would be just Getting an uber-high-grade book gives me two feelings. One, a supreme feeling of achievement and satisfaction. Two, a strong feeing of nervousness. I love the feel of a great book, but I'm also scared that my handling it will lower the grade. I love to hold 8.0's and flip through them, but I start to get nervous with anything higher. Heheh....I guess that's what the reading copies are for. Andy
  7. Real cool story, that one. DC war from all periods are chalked full of great stories. Don't be afraid to pick any of them up, especially readers as they can be found relatively cheaply. (thumbs u Andy
  8. $250? Worth every penny. You could probably double your money on that. Nice score! (thumbs u Andy
  9. Excellent books, boys! I'm drooling right now, so have to go grab a napkin...'scuse me.....
  10. I did! But I have not received an email from Josh. It shows up in my orders.
  11. Nice book, Canickus! Looking forward to many more posts from you!!! (thumbs u Andy
  12. I was the under-bidder. Nice one! Andy
  13. Just gotta find that grandma with the hidden comic book collection, bud. Andy
  14. He is very well known for undergrading his books. He has a huge following as well. I threw out a bunch of lowball bids on his books hoping to get lucky, but alas no luck. I won a Spidey book years ago that was advertised as F and would honestly grade it at VF. I have not won anything since then as I am too cheap. Shawn Cheap is okay, Shawn. I've got some nice cheapies coming up in this weekend's VCC. Stay posted. Andy
