  1. Do a search first unless you wish to suffer the slings and arrows. Does that whistle mean you've got the goods? Heheh, I know you've got the goods! (thumbs u About the scanner, yes I do want one. I was just joking about starting a thread about them though. I know that's one of the most despised topics, or at least people get upset that others don't know how to use the search function. Blah! That search function is overrated anyway. Andy
  2. Hey all, just got a batch of books back from CGC. Mostly happy with my grades, but these grades are not as I purchased them, that's for sure. GIC #68 CGC 7.0 Very happy with this one, and I pegged it at F/VF as well OAAW #81 CGC 4.5 Bought this as a Fine, when I got it I figured it was VG/F so I was pretty close... AAMOW #8 CGC 7.0 I really figured this would get a VF, but that just shows me how nice some earlier books are, the VFs are just impossible to find. OFF #5 CGC 6.5 Nice book! I thought this was a F/VF, so again pretty close Overall, very happy with my latest books coming back. Sorry for the crappy pictures, and I don't have a proper scanner for CGC books. maybe I should start a thread in CG about what scanner to buy Andy
  3. Last spam notice...I've just thrown some books up on eBay and if you're in this thread you may very well be interested. (thumbs u Andy
  4. A quick little spam notice....I've listed a few war books on eBay, including the keys. (That's for all who didn't get my spamming PMs) Thanks, Andy
  5. That SSWS #140 is typically one of the most commonly over-graded comics on eBay. It's nice to see you find an accurately graded, high-grade copy. That is a really cool cameo appearance of Spidey, Fay, thanks for posting!!! The plugged nickel book is a great cover and a great story as well, good choice! (thumbs u
  6. Paid Collector's Society members do if you submit your books through the CS website. Since the discount is maxed at 10%, I submitted it through the CS website this time so I could check the grades. Damn! Good to know, thanks Greggy! (thumbs u Andy
  7. Sweet! Thanks for posting, Jeffro! Andy
  8. Thanks. The GI Joe 10 is actually the first issue of that series. I have enjoyed looking at the obscure (to me) covers here. I am sure I have more of this type but few are scanned. Here's a few more, though. Always liked this one for the way everybody is so caught up in the courtroom drama that nobody seems to notice they are about to get blown up. And these for the possibly advised mixing of world war 2 and super-villain weaponry. Nice Furys, bluechip! Andy
  9. Nice variants. Alot of people don't realize how rare they really are. I was thinking what nice books, but I didn't notice they were the 30 cent variants. Impressive, indeed! Andy
  10. Amen. Nice work, Fay! You truly have a big heart. Andy
  11. Great books, bluechip! I really like the conversation between these two. If that guy would talk less, he could just pick up that grenade and toss it back. Andy
  12. That frogman better get that wire cut and toss that dynamite quickly, or it's frog soup for lunch! This is definitely one of my favourite OAAW covers! This book looks in decent shape, nice pickups!! (thumbs u They do all look familiar though... Andy
  13. I'm in the same boat with ya' moloch.... Well, after PM/emailing matewan1990/Michael Browning everywhere I could (thanks Mephisto) I finally got a PM here Tuesday (3/11) from the matewan1990 ID from someone saying he was taking care of things for Michael while he was out of town and if I'd send him my address he'd get me my book asap. I did and the book showed up express delivery yesterday (3/12), accurately graded and well packed. So, good ending for me, but as of yesterday Dawgwindu hadn't been contacted so I guess it's still early to remove him from the list, but looks like a resolution will be forthcoming. good news (thumbs u Andy
  14. That was just the style back then....
  15. Here's another crackpot bidder who just can't live without this book. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230229471623&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013 These kind of prices are really tempting me to break out some of my own, you know what I mean? Problem is, I try to grade accurately. A half-grade overgraded makes a HUGE difference in price sometimes. Andy
  16. Congrats, Fay! Keep up the good mood!!! Andy
  17. I could stare at sig images of your avatar over and over again for a while. One of the books I regret never owning from the war genre.
  18. My thoughts? This kind of silliness means that I'll likely never get a copy of this book. You'll get one, hang in there! (thumbs u
  19. I wanted that book as well, but couldn't afford to throw big bucks at it because it was raw. Too much of a gamble. From the scans, half of the books look like they're graded well and the other half seem to be off about 0.5 to 1.0. Well, I did win 4 books, not the ones I really wanted mind you, and I'll have a 1st hand peak at the grading when they come in. Congrats to the seller, though, he made some very impressive sales there. Andy
  20. Sorry to butt in here and mention this, but I've started a new WTB thread and any help from you guys would be great. I've got a bit of extra cash and a lot of holes here. I'm going to post this in the Silver Age War thread as well, so don't be too angry with me... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2247726&page=0#Post2247726 Andy

  22. Nice book Andy. Did you notice the label is wrong with the issue number and year. Still a Beauty!! Is it wrong? Looks right to me? Andy yeah the book is #257 and the label says #157 Well, that explains a lot of things! I bought that through Heritage's auction and I didn't pay much attention. It was definitely advertised as OAAW #157, and that's why I was so stoked about it. Jeezus! Don't I feel like a horse's azz! I think I'll be sending this puppy back to Heritage...then again, it is getting me 500 points in the registry...
