  1. The books in hand don't appear faded, but I can no longer compare them to the original pictures, as they are now removed. Andy
  2. Great books, troop, and from what you're mentioning, not bad prices! Way to go! (thumbs u Andy
  3. Hey Tats, Sorry to hear about your packaging. I received 4 books, and they were in bags and boards, taped together inside 2 harder pieces of cardboard. To me, his shipping was pretty good. The 4 books were: OFF70 7.5 If I were selling this, I'd give it a F- 5.5 OFF 64 7.5 Slightly better than the #70, this is a Fine 6.0 SSWS 97 4.5 Graded fairly well, I'd say-it's a fine 6.0 with a popped upper staple, VG+ 4.5 is the only grade I can agree with SSWS 154 7.0 With the spine creases, wear at top, chipping at right, and rust migration from one staple on back cover, I'd be giving this one a Fine 6.0 These books didn't appear faded, but I will have a look later today with my overcopies. Andy
  4. Here's a few books that I've just got in. G. I. Combat #37 Nova Scotia copy, bought as a VF/NM from ComicConnect, really nice book and happy to own it, didn't come with any certificate, though.... Our Fighting Forces #19 bought on eBay as a F/VF, again, nice book, but the back cover has pretty heavy foxing (described by seller as "light"). Give me your opinions, please. Our Fighting Forces #70, ugh...bought from same seller as that raw GIC 87 8.0, this book was described as a 7.5. Glad my total bill was only $87.00 and not $2000. Battle Cry #1 Cool book. I think it was described as a Fine, and I'm quite happy no matter what. Wicked flamethrower cover and I love that little head as their logo.
  5. I remember seeing that book, eBay was it? I didn't have it pegged for a 5.0, though. Good job! I really like that 8 over 9 pence stamp, but not so much the writing above it. Andy
  6. Still a nice book, Jack! (thumbs u ...scary, but nice... Andy
  7. My top ten,,,I have only been collecting war books for a few years, and I only collect DC Big 5 so that is what my list will consist of. 10. Our Army at War 112 - Brady Bunch Cover 9. Our Fighting Forces 71- Awesome Grey Tone 8. All American Men of War 67- 1st G&S 7. G.I. Combat 56 - Love the cover and prototype issue 6. G.I. Combat 80 - One of my all time favorite covers 5. G.I. Combat 91 - Another One of my all time favorites 4. G.I. Combat 87 - 1st Haunted Tank and what a cover 3. Our Army at War 81 - Almost the 1st Rock 2 G.I. Combat 68 - "The Rock" and also, my first DC War book 1. Our Army at War 83 - 1st True Rock thirdgreenham's top 10 DC war books 10. Star Spangled War Stories #151 1st Unknown Soldier (not really, but it is to me. I doesn't have a great story as SSWS #154, but it introduces the character that filled my dreams for many, many nights) 9. Our Army At War #2 (incredibly scarce early DC war book, probably not on the top 10 of 100 other DC war collectors' lists, but due to it's scarcity, it makes mine) 8. All American Men Of War #67 1st Gunner and Sarge (tough book to find in nice shape and introduces a couple of real losers) 7. Star Spangled War Stories #84 1st Mlle. Marie (a very sought after book that sells for multiples of guide at times, very important for DC war collectors) 6. Our Fighting Forces #45 early Gunner and Sarge (strangely more important to me than the 1st appearance in AAMOW 67, I find both books very difficult to find in nice shape, but this one has a bigger draw for me)(side note-just try to find a copy of OFF46!) 5. Our Army At War #1 (a very important book for me, my first expensive DC war comic that I ever bought....it cost $150 for a VG about 13 years ago) 4. G. I. Combat #68 Sgt. Rock prototype (a surprise hit among DC war books, once thought to be the first Sgt. Rock appearance, now just a lowly prototype book that goes for gobs of cash!) 3. Our Army At War #81 last Sgt. Rock prototype (Overstreet lists this as the most expensive DC war book, but #83 should really take that crown. Can anyone with GPA confirm this?) 2. Our Army At War #83 1st true Sgt. Rock ( the most desirable comic book for DC war collectors-except me) 1. G. I. Combat #87 1st Haunted Tank (mesmerizing cover and it just so happens to be a monumental issue) Andy

  9. I only know DC war, so it wouldn't be fair of my to make a list that included the other companies. I know Atlas war is amazing, EC war is supposed to be wonderful as well. Trooper says Timely is great. When I compose my list, it'll be "thirdgreenham's top 10 DC war books"....cause that's all I know... Andy
  10. Great list, Shep! (thumbs u I'll compile my list tomorrow, not much time tonight. Andy
  11. Damn, troop, I believe I was the under-bidder on those two books. Nice pick ups!!! Andy
  12. ! no, no, you're supposed to say, "junk" I can never tell the difference between "junk" and "sweet" books.
  13. Very nice copy, Jeff! Very nice indeed. (thumbs u Andy
  14. I really like your 93! Beautiful book. Andy
