  1. I've been down this kind of rabbit hole many times. >9.2
  2. These are so hard to guess which way to go. I got a 9.2 on mine (in both my journals & albums). I'd say this looks as good, so >9.2. Paper looks pretty clean, which is a biggie. Personally, I've started to detest the Stan Lee signature. It looks genuine enough, although it lacks his trademark "cover up the art & be generally unattractive" flair.
  3. 5.5 Universal. Signature inside won't affect grade. Stain is the obvious issue. Bonus having the transfer image. Aside, as a UK comic guy, do you have knowledge on cover artists of these reprints? The GCD says this one is John Buscema, although it doesn't appear to be signed. The CGC label does not appear to designate a cover artist. I ask b/c I'm trying to figure out who is the cover artist of Dracula Lives 20 (posted here and in the general questions forums). I think it might be Ron Wilson, but I don't have a reliable resource to verify.
  4. I've been trying to figure out who did these "extra" covers for this UK series (issue 21 is the classic Tomb of Dracula 10 as the story is split between 20 & 21). Most of the places I look for this information usually don't list an artist. I found the following by digging around on Google, although I don't know how accurate this is. I've found even usually reliable sources with errors in the creator (even CGC labels). I tried an email I found for Wilson, but got no response. Any experts out there? https://comics-out.com/issue?iud=26791 https://downthetubes.net/marvel-uk-art-mystery-who-pencilled-this-dracula-lives-cover-back-in-1975/
  5. 5.5.6.0. Press out the indentions if structurally sound
  6. 4.5/5.0 stain & darkened paper are the bigger issues than the tear, although it looks like the paper might be delicate along that edge. Can't tell that in photos though
  7. I've got this at 7.0/7.5 pressed. I'd pick 7.0 if forced to choose.
  8. There are different sets of graders for signature/modern/vintage, so some variance is expected. They don't even work in the same building on the CGC campus from what I understand.
  9. Ok, I think the crease is worse than the tear, so that probably sets the ceiling. I think 9.0 is the allowable. I do think CGC tends to ramp up the harshness as books get newer, so I can se this coming in lower than allowable. 8.5/9.0. I'd avoid sending this for grading b/c there's not enough value if it gets handled by a tough grader
  10. Looks like a small crease on the BRFC? I'd say 9.0 if that's what it is.
  11. i can't really tell if it's a small tear perpendicular to the edge & some sort of bend or crease parallel to the edge, or it's all a tear. Length here matters. How much of a tear is there?
  12. Aside from the color breaking crease through the center of the cover, the staining is significant and probably sets the grade. I can't see this level of staining going over 4.0, and that's the high water mark.
  13. In my amateur opinion, no. You have a long color breaking crease through the Lizard's legs, more elsewhere especially the BRFC & the color-breaking spine stress lines. The cumulative length is really close to what would cap this at 6.0 just on creasing. You can certainly press out some of the indentions and spine curl, which might make it look better, but it isn't going to impact the grade that much, if at all. If you read the CGC grading book, a moderate to major defect like a long crease sets the grade. Often minor defects won't impact the grade b/c they are "allowable" at the current ceiling. I believe this is how CGC is somewhat different from other standards that may deduct for every single defect. There is at least 1 brown blotch of some sort on the BRBC that might be a stain, so I think 5.0/5.5 with 5.5 being the max. The back could use cleaning if some of the darkness is surface soiling.
  14. I'd call this Cream to Off-White b/c of the apparent darker border, but I am not a page color expert by any stretch https://www.cgccomics.com/grading/grading-scale/?scale=page-quality A press might get this to 6.0/6.5
  15. Also Frank. Just a personal choice here as a fan of Miller & Universal Monsters
