  1. I see these lines going all the way down the book, most noticeable through the I/F and O/S of the title. Kind of weird. Like a subscription bend/crease, but not the right area. There's also a spine roll. I'd say all that should be pressable & therefore >9.0, but I don't know what those lines are there's a lot of uncertainty. I love this book and cover. Mine was my introduction to how much CGC penalizes even barely noticeable water damage.
  2. The FC photo is blurry so it's hard to be confident about defects. The shadow on the back probably keeps this out of NM range. 7.5/8.0 pending a better look at the cover. I don't think the internal writing will matter much here.
  3. 5.5 was my first impression too. I'd like to see a book command more than 2× the cost of grading (pressing/shipping/etc.) unless there's an additional motivation to slab (personal connection, signature, Mark Jewelers, etc.) That makes this a tweener as it's right on that edge of the value. I'd lean to no on grading since there are >15K graded copies of this book already. Any of the books that have high census numbers (looking at you ASM 300) become harder to justify grading unless they're clearly 9.0s or better
  4. I could see this getting a 4.5, but no lower than a 4.0
  5. To my eyes c/p might make it look marginally better, but not increase the grade. There's quite a bit of ink loss on the FC, some small staple tears, some color breaking creases, etc. None of these are improved by c/p. The back cover is pretty discolored & it looks to me like this is more than surface grime.
  6. maybe a 9.0. Hard to evaluate some areas/defects that are white.
  7. I'm hesitant to go above 6.0/6.5 b/c of that one corner.
  8. You should avoid giving a grade or use the spoiler button to hide your guess. It does help if there's a specific defect of concern to describe it. I see what appears to be a white smudge on the J, but it very much matters what it is to assign a grade.
  9. these photos are too blurry to see fine details
  10. Yeah, 4.0/4.5. If given TLC, I could see a magazine getting a bump from a CGC grader as their standards seem to be more lenient in magazines. For selling, I wouldn't price that in as probable.
  11. I have a better copy of this that I bypassed posting on PMG & sent right to Sarasota. I expect that back in 2025-2026 or later. I just received a lot of SSMs that I gambled on for another book that didn't end up looking as nice in hand as it did in photos (also might have picked up some bends in transit b/c the seller used minimal packing & sent in an envelope ). I viewed getting this as a potential bonus. Lots of the copies of this comic I've seen look bad along the top edge (spine). Horizontal printing + magazine size does this one no favors. Relatively minimal spine ticks by comparison. Unfortunately, the bottom staple is detached and there's a small spine split. The paper is all there at the split, just curled in the photo. Small splits seem relatively common in this UK reprints too b/c in addition to the size, the paper feels cheap, even in these that aren't as bad as the all newspaper UK comics. Anyway, thought this would be fun for people to see.
