  1. 9.2ish. Just some minor defects on the bottom corners
  2. This sounds like a reader crease that "breaks color" on the white part maybe? 6.0 is about where they auto-grade a reader crease.
  3. 4.5/5.0, it looks like there's a splitting around the bottom corner of the spine. I've had some square bounds that were otherwise nice take a hit for the flimsy binding starting to go
  4. 2.0/2.5. It might lighten a little with the right treatment, but looks pretty permanent to me. Not sure I'd put too much work into the stain b/c of the heavy wear. I don't think it moves the needle that much, so minimal ROI.
  5. 5.5/6.0 unless that creasy thing on the front cover is a printers crease. It does not look like one. Between that and the discoloration on the back cover, I don't see this getting near VF grades regardless of any c/p. I don't se much that's correctable since the discoloration doesn't appear to be surface grime.
  6. In-hand. I have questions. Does this mean QC caught the incorrect label, reholdered but didn't change the imagine in the database? Either way, I'm relieved b/c I don't want to send anything back. I'm batting 0.000 on getting Mechanical Errors handled properly, including lost books.
  7. Definitely not an 8.0. The inside photo of the back cover make it appear that the cover is detached, or darn close to it. The top edge of the front cover is rough with at least one small tear visible from the inside shot above the S in PRODUCTS. Corners have wear. There's clearly shadow/oxidation around the edges. Best case scenario is 5.5/6.0 & 5.0/5.5 seems more likely to my eyes. Possibly lower depending on the degree of detachment
  8. C/P might get this to 7.0/7.5, but I'd personally keep/sell this raw. With about 30 sec of searching, I found a CGC 8.0 for $115. All the expenses associate with prepping and grading would get you really close to the same level of investment.
  9. Spine roll should be removable by pressing. I feel like the paper oxidation around the edges will keep the max around 8.0. The top staple also looks like there could be some micro tears. I'm a little curious about what that black printing is inside the front cover along the spine.
  10. 7.0/7.5. I might lean higher b/c of the black cover that's mostly free of color breaking defects
  11. 7.0/7.5 I lean higher on these old books that still look this nice
  12. 3.0/3.5. I can't get to 4.0 with whatever those dark spots are on the back cover
  13. 6.5/7.0 c/p'd. I heard an interview with a creator that mentioned apes/gorilla covers. Apparently these sold very well, so part of the creative process was having a cover like this drawn and then constructing a story from that.
  14. I guess the corners are a little worn, but looks great, at least in the census scans. Actual slab in transit. Edit: I just realized they used the Universal blue label instead of the yellow Signature one. Very hesitant to send this for a Mechanical Error fix since they lost the last books I sent back.
