  1. 7.0 if everything on the back is foxing. Lower if there's staining. CGC is pretty unforgiving with these kinds of issues.
  2. It might show up in the notes, but I don't think they put any defect details on labels unless it's a Qualified or Restored label. Since tape doesn't count as restoration, the label will be blue without saying anything. They just list tape in the list of regular defects in their guidebook https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/3327/CGC-Modifies-Stance-on-Grading-Submissions-with-Tape/
  3. it probably matters whether that one corner has a bindery tear or a spine split. 7.5/8.0. If they call it a split, maybe a grade lower
  4. 7.5/8.0. I think the lower. I was a grade higher just based on the front, but the back isn't great. Think that tips the balance on a tweener into the 7s
  5. 5.0, maybe 5.5. Creases, spine stress lines, and ink loss. I'd need to see only 2 of those to go higher.
  6. CGC grades for a recessed staple are 8.5-9.6. I don't think it will impact the grade here, except maybe preventing a 9.8. >9.2
  7. 7.5. Looks like some ink loss in several places on the edges, along with some general wear
  8. Date stamps won't impact the grade with the other defects. Same for the writing presuming it's from distribution, which it looks like to me. It's the various edge issues that will set the ceiling. I'd say max 7.0. 6.5/7.0.
  9. Not sure how much the FC is attached above the obvious split at the base. It looks split further up too, maybe barely attached in places. I think the BC is split & taped. The split(s) here are severe enough that a tape reattachment/presence shouldn't impact the grade any further. 4.0/4.5. I am leaning 4.0 unless the delicacy of the square bound format gets some consideration. The have a square bound with a similar or less severe split at 4.5.
  10. Read the pinned thread about posting guidelines. Also, several of these photos are too blurry to assess condition
  11. I forgot the title said second print by the time I finished looking at pic. No doubt, send it in. I generally feel like 9.4/9.6/9.8 is a pick-em when looking at photos. Even stuff like minor finger bends can be missed. It's a lot easier to grade the lower grade books with a few obvious defects that set a ceiling/floor
  12. Think I'd max out at a 4.5 for the corner problem the way CGC views splits, even small ones. Could be a 5.0 on the right day in the right hands. Cool book
  13. >9.2. Almost impossible to parse the higher grades from photos. I'm not sure my eyes see a guaranteed 9.8. Worth taking a look at already graded books for sale. You could be on the hook in shipping/fees for what it costs to get a guaranteed newsstand 9.6.
  14. 9.0/9.2 clean & press to maximize outcome. The back cover is the issue.
  15. around 9.0. There's ink transfer or some kind of something around both corners of the FC. Maybe some light wear otherwise.
  16. Sort of curious if you thought the wording of my edit was meant to suggest the centerfold was loose/detached (it's not)
  17. I just received a lot of +30 Dell silver age comics, mostly horror titles. This copy of the Creature wasn't the motivating factor for buying, but I did notice it was included. I also didn't know which version it was at the time, but it's the 2nd print. Unclear to me what the difference in value is, but there are 3× more copies of the 1st print than the 2nd in the CGC census. Not sure it's knowable if that's b/c of how many copies are in circulation, or just b/c people care more about grading the first print. Pretty nice looking copy, given the Dell grading scale that typically ranges between beat to hell to almost beat to hell. There are only 8 copies graded 9.0 or above for both printings combined. Won't challenge those numbers, but what do you think? Edit: Just a shadow on the inner pages. Just showing the centerfold, which seems to fall out of Dell books if you breath on them too hard. This one is firmly attached.
  18. Full spine split is automatically down to 1.8. I'd guess 1.0/1.5
  19. back edges tanning is on the dark side, around 8.0
