  1. Unusual stain. Can you clearly tell it's a substance? By staining standards of CGC, around 5.5/6.0. Leaning to the lower b/c of the back, which also looks pretty grubby in the white areas
  2. True dat. I wish I'd had mine back when you put this up, I'd have had you take photos of page 3. I've seen a description of what it is, but it didn't quite make sense to me why it would have been removed. Mine has a nice smudgy stain thing on the back or it would probably have gotten closer to a 7.0Q https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/4271699006/
  3. It depends what it is. It could be distribution overspray, in which case it won't hurt that much. Probably it won't factor in at the grade warranted by the little defects. Say 8.0/8.5 b/c it looks like some minor wear around the edges with some light bends. Maybe 9.0 pressed. The color isn't typical of overspray & there's usually more on the edge than the cover itself, so it could be something else. If it's determined to be post manufacturing/distribution, then 7.0/7.5.
  4. You can edit any post, using the 3-dot button in the top right. No need to repost. It's great to have new people here, I would suggest picking up a copy of CGC's book to familiarize yourself with the basics & language of grading https://shop.collectiblesgroup.com/products/the-official-cgc-guide-to-grading-comics-1st-edition-soft-cover I see an 9.4 give or take since the finer details that differentiate upper NM grades are hard to detect in photos
  5. This seems right. Mine came in 8.5, I think it looks a bit better than this b/c the stress lines are shorter. I'll say 8.0, but could land a grade higher or lower depending on the day and grader.
  6. 6.0/6.5 if CGC is consistent with it's stain deductions. The most recent GSXmen posted here was overgraded by a wide margin, so who knows.
  7. See the pinned thread for posting guidelines
  8. small creases & wear around the edges have me thinking 5.5/6.0 even though it looks higher grade at first glance.
  9. I sent a copy of this one. Thought it would do better. Small staple tears: 8.5. IDK if it's common with this book, or just a coincidence. 8.5/9.0 based on experience
  10. How has no one made the helicopter an animated gif yet?
  11. 3.5/4.0, I think the lower as long as there are no serious structural issues.
  12. Some bends might press out. 7.5/8.0 as is, 8.0/8.5 pressed. Maybe a 9.0 depending on how long the tear is. Not entirely clear if/how far it extends into the light yellow part.
  13. These don't read like the Grader Notes of a 9.2. Grader Notes fingerprints top of front cover foxing full bottom of front cover light indents, indent lines cover
  14. 3.5/4.0. Without staining, a 4.0/4.5. Staining knocks it down. Although the paper looks pretty dark, but I don't have a reference point to tell me how white (or if) the paper was originally.
  15. I believe glue or something similar is a good guess. I do not think it will matter at this grade. 1.8/2.0
  16. 2.0/2.5 the CGC book on "Tape Reattachment" goes to some lengths to describe defects that will garner a particular grade (e.g. 1.8 for a fully split spine) will usually come in a grade lower if reattached by tape (1.5 for the reattached spine). It's a pretty large chunk, so I expect lower than 3.0.
  17. Pressed I assume, but whom? and do you have photos of the book pressed before it was slabbed?

  19. Bit of a head scratcher here. I thought 7.0 was the optimistic, best case scenario with 6.0/6.5 being probable (slabbed back cover to show cleaning, which was effective). On the other hand, the Nick Fury I sent to the same signing came back a few grades lower than I thought. It's a beautiful book and the notes don't sound like an 8.0
  20. X-Men came in higher than expected, Nick Fury lower
