  1. In the modern comics heating up on eBay thread I believe we’re talking about these hot books to capitalize and make money. Or are we supposed to pull that hot book out of a dusty long box, look at it longingly and put it back? To further my point limiting yourself to just what you like is shortsighted. That $4 book that sold for $130 went into buying books I actually like and want.
  2. Yeah why buy a book for $4 and turn around and sell it for $50. Same with Eniac #1. A $4 book sold for $130 & another set of both #1’s for $150. Who in their right mind would want to profit like that?
  3. Yes one of the first prints and the second print are glow in the dark. If you have one and it’s not glowing put it under a light for a few minutes and it should glow.
  4. You just answered your own question. There’s less of them and in today’s market that’s important.
  5. I don’t think image comics had a set newsstand end date. A lot of it depended on the particular creator. Or that’s what I’ve heard. The Image Comics Newsstand thread has the precise issue numbers of quite a few image comics ending.
  6. There’s quite a few that go for decent money, including Witchblade #10
  7. He’s writing what two marvel books? Thor and Venom along with king in black. The problem is Cates can’t write his way out of a wet paper bag.
  8. I’m not. Sure it’s a Silver Age book but it’s Stiltman. A character with long extendable legs. I don’t think there’s a lot of fans of people with long legs. Well except basketball fans and groupies.
  9. I’ve heard cbsi is behind comic book exclusives. Anyone have any info on that rumor?
  10. Her Ringed hand first appears in Green Lantern 20. She’s also mentioned by name in GL20. I believe the next is a cameo in Justice League 30. Justice League 31 is her first full appearance. Justice league 50 is her first as green lantern. Though her first cameo covers that. I could be wrong on these I’m going off memory.
  11. I honestly prefer the forums at comics heating up. A big group of active collectors, flippers and speculators sharing info. I get a ton of info on their forums. If you’re over there I’m ToddW. I get almost as much info here but it’s like family over there.
  12. What’s an Elfquest? Jk. Sorry couldn’t help myself.
  13. Most of mine is sorted alphabetically. I do have about the equivalent of 8 long boxes of unsorted stuff which I’m working on integrating into the rest of the collection. So it’s a pain when it’s in the very last box you end up checking. A victory of sorts if it’s in the first few.
  14. I try and buy them before they’re hot. Unless your saying you seek out cheap copies of hot books.
  15. The regular cover is the one to have as its got Kid Loki’s first cover appearance as well.
  16. It’s not how they were supposed to be though.
  17. It had two open order covers one by Art Adams the other by Frank Cho. Any I’ve run across have both covers in different orders. That’s also the first newsstand I’ve seen of it.
  18. I know that most of the direct editions of that particular hulk issue have double covers as well.
  19. Daredevil #10 is her first cover appearance. Or are you of the mind that appearing in 8 separate pages in multiple panels with an origin in Daredevil #9 doesn’t count as a first appearance? Asking seriously because some of the speculation sites are trying to claim #10 is her first appearance.
