  1. The nice thing is these aren’t the major titles so there should be a lot less of them. I’m always happy to add any post 2000 Marvel Newsstands to my collection as long as the grade and price are right.
  2. I completely disagree on Copper Newsstands being hard to find. I find it ludicrous to be honest. During that time every gas station, convenience store, newsstand, grocery store, department store, book store, etc. sold them. They were a hell of a lot more plentiful than post 2000 newsstands. Hundreds of thousands to millions were the average print runs back then compared to today’s numbers which break 100,000 on the very rare occasion otherwise Tens of thousands at best.
  3. Very happy to find this for $30 & I can prioritize other books now. Unless I find another good deal that is.
  4. Picked this up last night. I think this is my first copy of this or maybe second.
  5. Thanks for all the information and the work put into it!! My main interest with newsstands are Post 2000 and they’re really really hard to find in high grade. I will always pick up the newsstands if older books if given a choice.
  6. I finally found these two issues to add to my collection. Actually it was a complete set of 1-17 but my only care was #14 & #17. First Kamala Khan Cameo & Cameo. I got the whole set for $74 which is around half of what #14 ustalliy goes for. Already have half a dozen graded copies of her first full and done raws as well.
  7. Picked this up today for $30 including shipping. Graded 9.8 by a “Competitor”. It’s also got a minor first full appearance of Danger.
  8. Picked up another early Sub-Mariner with a sweet Buscema Cover.
  9. Intend on getting a higher grade but couldn’t pass up a great deal.
  10. Their becoming more and more popular as the days, weeks, months and years pass. Many modern keys in newsstand go for multiple times what the direct counterpart goes for. There’s also plenty differences in most cases as well. Ranging from price variants, barcodes & paper quality. Those price variants draw in those collectors as well. When you also consider the life of newsstand copies compared to direct and the return-ability along with only one or two stores sporadically carrying copies towards the end. So whether you collect them or what personal feelings you have there’s a niche market that’s only gaining in popularity. I’m happy to see it stay niche until my collection fills out more.
  11. Post 2000 Marvels being my main area of collecting it can be really difficult to find any newsstands especially the last few years before marvel stopped. It can be exceptionally hard to find high grades or high grade keys. Marvel stopped in 2014. Amazing Spider-Mans always are popular along with main titles like you have. I’d check the Wikipedia Database for those particular books and check for any first appearances.
  12. Maybe we were separated at birth?! I get so angry when I get a bunch of damaged rare newsstands And it’s caused by bad packaging. These last ones I knew were going to be bad when I was handed the package and you could feel the books sliding every which way. The whole way home from the post office cussing out the seller for being an imbecile.
  13. If the discount on postage isn’t enough to get sellers to print their labels you also don’t have to write out the addresses. Real easy to make a mistake handwriting them especially if you ship a lot. Negatives would be paper and ink for the printer.
  14. I try and do the same and have had sellers argue that securing the books isn’t safe or secure. They’d rather they slide all around and get impact creases. Baffling.
  15. Yeah a press would help but there’s a lot of color breaking ticks and creases as well. They issued a full refund but I hated seeing them like that. Of course picking it up from the post office I knew there’d be issues as the books were just sliding every which way.
  16. Just won these tonight. I’d forgotten I’d put a bid on them and definitely didn’t think I’d win.
  17. Some recent additions I already have multiples of each but it’s hard to turn down excellent prices and higher grades.
  18. So every last one of these books were damaged due to poor packaging. They were bagged & boarded put into a partial makeshift box and put into a plastic mailer. The loose books bounced & banged around and resulted in this. Please package your books properly.
  19. I’m making an effort to pick up more silver age stuff and less modern newsstands. My recent pickups #5 is a 7.5 and #6 is an 8.5. I’ve cropped out the cases label as they’re not CGC.
