  1. Appreciate the concern, but as Jayman relates I take the image then crop/resize it to fit, which also gets rid of any glare or spine showing - piece of cake. Here's the final clue, the opening splash from the same book: STEVE Got Larson?
  2. Just the best covers on these books - Schomburg and Fine rule the era IMHO. And taking a peek inside a Timely ain't too bad either.... STEVE Larson?
  3. I love the look on the soldier's face as the gal is having a Marilyn moment... STEVE
  4. Well, you better put a pair of sunglasses on then! STEVE Got Larson?
  5. RHG, does this look familiar? STEVE Got Larson? (nope - but CentaurMan does!)
  6. Here's something a bit different for a Saturday Night...Syndicate Fetaures promotional flyer for Guardineer's Dan Hastings strip. Front STEVE Got Larson?
  7. FN condition? His Detective 35 looks a lot better than FN! Actually the top staple is reinforced so it would be a purple label book if slabbed (never! never!). One of the handful of restored books I have - the colors and interiors were just too attractive to resist. All the copies posted today are appealing! STEVE Got Larson?
  8. Since I'm still in show-off mode... STEVE Got Larson? (si senor)
  9. Nice Adam - that Ryan is a hoot (and any Guardineer is good). STEVE Got Larson?
  10. Sounds like we may be mixing up our Dave Alexanders and Dave Andersons! STEVE Got Larson?
  11. <image of screaming man waving arms and running off to the hills> STEVE Got Larson?
  12. You go, DK! - that's quite a quest. That sure looks better than a 2.5 if not for the tape (and great pages, too). Here's the baby's twin... STEVE Got Larson?
  13. Somehow PH's Funny Pages 35 morphed into Fantastic 3 (wish all my books would do that). Now it changed back....? Ooops, the 'magic camera' just flashed again... STEVE Got Larson? (yessss)
  14. Got the camera at the "Twilight Zone" pawn shop! <cue catchy theme music> STEVE Got Larson?
  15. 2 beauties JB - I'll have to get me one of those. STEVE Got Larson?
  16. I obtained the Church set of A-Man 6 thru 11 at the same time (long ago) in a three-way deal brokered by another collector (IIRC correctly, the books came to him via John Snyder). I no longer own the 8 and 9, and subsequently sold off the 7 (note: it had several inches of red pen recoloring along the spine) when I obtained the Larson (and she's a beauty). I'll try to post a few more pictures this weekend... if only to increase Ryan's torture level! (haha). STEVE Got Larson?
  17. Okay, here's one for you. It's the Larson copy. Ooooh, I like that. A lot. (Beautiful Amazing man, by the way.) Thanks - it has a few minor flaws (as can be seen along the left edge), but as the Church copy it may be the best around. An important historical fact on A-Man was that he was the first superhero to debut in his own title. Wish I had the #5(1), but the right copy (restored would be OK) just hasn't come along. STEVE Got Larson? (we know RHG does!)
  18. Any identifying marks or features on Comstocks or Carson Citys? P5, that Weird 5 is....(wait for it)... weird! STEVE Got Larson?
  19. No posts in one of my favorite threads for over a day??? UNACCEPTABLE!!! STEVE Got Larson?
  20. My first serious GA book (purchased back when dinosaurs still walked the earth) that set me back a whopping $100... I still vividly recall handing over the C-note to the seller: What a great hobby this is... STEVE Got Larson?
  21. Win that is a beautiful #24. The pages look bone white. Is it a pedigree? Lovely book, Win - did you happen to purchase it within the last few years (from Motor City, perhaps)? STEVE Got Larson? I am not sure if you are the one who PMed Win, but I checked the book out and it is indeed the Cosmic Aeroplane copy. It has some interior check marks and numbers in pencil next to a couple of panels. Sharp eye! Yes, it was me - glad to be of service! STEVE Got Larson?
  22. Comstock - I'm not familiar with those...any details? Here's the Tuska cover to Mystery Men 6: STEVE Got Larson? (affirmative, but the name is erased on this copy)
  23. Wonderful, wonderful thread - thanks to RHG for getting things going. This is the last non-superhero cover (Moldoff) of the period. What is of note for me is that I used to own the Mile High... then the Larson, and now... the Nova Scotia - enjoy! STEVE Got Larson?
  24. Very nice lot, Ryan - I do like the variety that's represented! STEVE Got Larson?
