  1. Seems to me there have been more pics of 29 than 35 on here lately. I don't have either but I always thought 35 was the toughie.

    (shrug)

Fishler once stated that he has easily sold 30+ copies [can't recall the exact number] over the years, one of the more "common" pre-Robin Tec's.

i think he has 30+ copies of Fantastic 3 :insane:

(shrug) Doesn't everyone. I keep mine next to my Wolverine #1 LS.

  2. Nice pick up :applause:

Been a while since I posted in this thread.

    Latest pick ups:

Damn George. I slept right through the bidding on the BT (head cold) and was not happy that I did. I'm glad someone I like won it. Please let me be first in line for it if you decide to sell. Heck if you want to make a profit right now, let me know. I have a 5.0 I can send over if you really need a copy. :baiting:

I was watching (and bidding) on that Exciting #9 also of course, great book. Again, I'm glad it went to a well respected boardie.

    First in line (thumbs u

  3. Very happy with the Black terror comics.

Also my first Whiz 2 (1).

Suppose I should revise my Overstreet 100 numbers.

Please tell me you're not going after Whiz now. This is a great copy of #1.

Never had a Whiz 1 before so thought I might as well scratch that itch.

Not collecting Whizs but I am collecting Wyatt Earps :baiting:

You can have most all of those. I only want a few particular WEs.

Never collected a Western comic set though Western films have always been one of my favourite genres.

How hard or easy is it to collect a run. I don't mean in terms of cost I mean in terms of availability in the current market.

If I was to collect say mid grade Wyatt Earps how quickly could it be completed. and how long would that time frame compare to high or low grade?

  5. The collection were mainly 1965+. Pretty much complete runs of all the Marvels from then on. I recall...quite a lot of the Marvels were 9.6 and 9.8.

So then it did have some hard to find in high grade major keys like Iron Man #1, Iron Man Sub-Mariner #1, Incredible Hulk #102, Avengers #57, Sub-Mariner #1, Captain Marvel #1, etc. (worship)

    lol

The later and not as scarce Marvels. lol

yeah I think its either post 1963 or 1964 that MARVEL are in plentiful supply, It could explain why Daredevil in mid-grade doesn`t go for more.

That and the fact that the character is a 3rd or 4th tier one now.

    Really?

I'd put him at 2nd tier at worst. Moderns sell like crazy and he's still beloved by Marvelites.

He's probably one of my favorite runs to collect.

    Agreed

  6. Its in the CL sale section at $89k ($80k to seller). So I suppose we know the cap on the book.

Its a book I'm interested in but I have focused on other comics to date where there are "one-off" opportunities to purchase.

  7. Think I have heard you mention Vault Comics before Andrew. Wonder if he's trading under another name?

    Not trading anymore.

He had a meltdown and disappeared from the scene owing people money and books. Others helped mitigate some of it by trying to sort it out.

Vault was a UK based auction site that wasn't a focus for US collectors. It was therefore a good place to pick up keys. I bought a restored MP 8.0 Tec #31 for $5k when market was more $9k.

  8. Me three. Awesome 36 and 37 Andre.Hurry with the group shot already. There are many of us anxiously waiting. With all these 37s popping up we might need to re-evaluate the scarcity between the 36 and 37. 36 suddenly has become harder to come by.within the last year I have owned 4 copies of 37 compared to just 1 copy of 36.

I'll get a group shot ready soon. I have two books I'm waiting for that will need to be picked up when I have a chance in Maryland. TEC 28 and 32. When I get those I'll post the picture . That will leave me with 3 more to get

what's left and not on payments?

    #27 and ?

:gossip:I don't actually think he has a 31 yet, but I suspect it won't be long

think my old copy is on time payments

  10. I'd have thought you would want to pick up the non-keys while prices were depressed unless you think they will be falling further?

The SC #22 market is one I've been quietly observing. I decided not to pick up a mid-grade copy last year as the buyers on the boards had a major impact on SC #22 prices. A number of you had multiple copies and were continuing to bid on further copies with bidding based on your previous buying history.

This made it difficult to pick up a copy within my price range.

There is obviously buying appetite outside the boards for SC #22 as evidenced by the high price generated on the 9.0 last year.

It will be interesting to see how this year pans out and whether the board as a whole are net buyers or sellers.
