Looks like I'll be buying Spideys again.
Just been going through this thread with my 3 year old son and he has declared himself a Spidey collector.
Great books guys.
Hopefully I'll have some books to post soon.

What are the odds on you buying a major key before the end of the year?
-
I would imagine that having 3 up to bat could work in all of the sellers' favor. I know I have been an underbidder wanting another option shortly there after.
I can't imagine how you could imagine that; competition is good for buyers and bad for sellers. You being an underbidder wanting another option just means you can bid less or avoid bidding on one in hopes of getting the next one, which leads to lower totals.
Yes, but in my experience more often or not, he who hesitates loses. I have waited and lost out on a book or two.
When I personally have lost on a book because I did not want to pay as much or I didn't bid high enough, I get pissed and my want turns into more of a need. So if there is another book running in auction after I lose out, I personally will bid more or pay more than the one I lost out on. Therefore I drive up the price on the other seller's book to get it. But, there has to be another wanting it like me and a lot of times, there always seems to be with what I want when I want it.
There is supply and demand and three have been supplied at once. We will see what the demand is.
Can't imagine demand for Daredevil #1 9.6s will be that high.
Wouldn't want to own the 9.6 scheduled to end last.

Another, but similar.
Roy'd again

Any idea where it came from?
Some idea but not 100% sure yet.
I was actually in the process of buying a high grade copy and lost out on it through a strange circumstance. I believe this might be the same book that I was after but haven't been able to confirm it.
That's all I'll say about it.
I don't think there is any interesting back story to the book.
Is this the circumstance I'm thinking of or another?

I think supapimp is just assuming. Doubt he has hard evidence.
I highly doubt anyone knowsI'm curious how anyone would know that he is a CL consignor. So do I. But the claim has been made in this thread with no evidence to back it up.
If anyone had hard evidence they would have already posted it.
If they had the evidence and not posted it I would want to know why.

holdin' out on us, eh.
Since john72tex is quite happy. I say it's no less than a 5.0, but a chance at a 5.5.
I will say it is the grade that was advertised in the Ebay auction I won it from 6 years ago. (thumbs u
6.0 bought for around $1,000

And I thought I would never own an Exciting Comics #9 - now I have two of them. (The 2.0 may be one of Bill's old copies???) Damned OCD
congrats
I have two as well.

I forgot to post my recent comicconnect win and I thought I would resurrect the original Detective at the same time.

I rarely post in the Silver Age forum. Since I actually collect some Silver Age books, that's silly.
You should come here more often...it doesn't smell as badly of mothballs and Ben-Gay like that other forum you enjoy frequenting.

Nice book.
Is it me or has the GL #76 9.2 been removed from the CL auction?
I'm sure it was there this morning.
Thanks for NOTHING Bill Sienkiewicz!

Very disappointing.
To wait that long and get that particular sketch at the end is pretty poor form.
