I was the underbidder on this one.
but my son appreciates it.
He's ready to start a hobby and likes Spider-man so time is right for an ASM run.

Wow,so super sweet. to show mine now!

I was after the #21 but when I went to post I couldn't as I hadn't updated my credit card details

Not me! I had my eye on the 14 also but went with this instead. I couldn't convince a boardie to sell me the 1st appearance of the Lizard earlier today, so i went with the 2nd appearance of him instead. I've always LOVED this cover, definitely one of my top 5 Spidey covers.
Great book

I thought it was the CGC labels that were being switched, something they have now addressed as the labels are more secure.
Not saying I would ever attempt it but why even bother trying to switch the book
when you can more easily work on the label. Less effort for the same result.
Very easy and hard to detect if done properly.
CGC serial numbers for the relevant comic and grade are obtainable through a variety of sources.

Can slabs actually be cracked without signs of tampering
I would think not.
Real question is whether you actually look at the slab close enough to detect it.

Each is One of a kind....Mexico, 1965

So what do people think the ending price on the DD's will be.
Curator 9.6 W pages is currently at $24,250 with 6 days left
Heritage 9.6 OW pages currently at $19,120 with 8 days left
Copy on Pedigree 9.6 OW-W pages starts in a 5 days and ends in 14 days.
Last recorded sale was in Jan for $62,000
$45k
$35k
$28k
my prediction
$52k
$38k
$50k (Somehow Doug always seems to get prices that suprise me)
Close on the first one:
50,750
37,343.75 for the heritage #1(Galactus is still super close with predictions)
With the Pedigree copy ending at $32,657 (reserve not met) it looks like Galactus won 2-1.

Picked these up in tonight's CL auction. Thought I'd submitted a lowball bid on the #20, but ended up winning it. No bargain on the #21, but as soon as it was posted in the auction preview, months ago, I I knew I had to have it...

So my son and I have started on our ASM collection.
First purchases:
-
37,343.75 for the heritage #1
(Galactus is still super close with predictions)
-
37,343.75 for the heritage #1
(Galactus is still super close with predictions)
would have been higher but my bid didn't register.
Tried 3 times but didn't recognise it.................

The Northland copy of #2 got sniped. The 6.0 copy of #3 got hit too. Luckily for our boardie the #6 & 10 were safe. Mine just ended and I got to keep it too.
Fell asleep (being in UK doesn't help me in a CL auction) so missed the bidding for everything last night.
Still managed to win the ASM #6 and ASM #15 9.4s.
Will post when get home.

Since this thread hasn't been updated yet, the stained 8.0/9.0 sold for $15.8K, a far cry from the 9.0 that sold for $30K+ with the chip out of it on Heritage and the $20K just paid for the 8.5 with the big stamp on it. For a couple seconds there I thought it was going to sell in the mid $12K range, until it got bumped up a bit in the last 5 seconds.
Still crazy at $15.8K given that it sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat and sat at $5K when it was in a 8.0 holder.
True, but it sure beats seeing it go for the same price as a real 9.0 copy.
The issue will be, will anyone remember this copy was upgraded in 3, 4 or 5 years time. I probably will not and i'm sure others will be the same. If and when it comes up for sale at that time, will the final bid be reflective of the fact that this was an 8.0 copy ?
especially if they got it regraded by CGC.
Any key identifiers that would make it stand out?

I "won" the 9.4 ASM #6, #10, #14 and #15 last night.
If I get outbid I'll have more money instead to buy FFs.
