  1. @MattM CS isn’t it best to eliminate common misconceptions when possible? also given that CCS was supposedly rebranded to CGC Pressing what better time to update the verbiage used when books are received
  2. wasn't there a period of time when people were submitting with custom labels to bypass the green qualified label .... this looks to be back from 2020, I believe they now have the safety net in place to prevent that from happening, no?
  3. was ecstatic to pick this up this week at the price I paid my first and only Stan Lee signed book unfortunately though you can't see it via the photo below (and it was not shown or made know in the auction listing) the whole entire case is riddled with Newton Rings RIP JRSR
  4. #1 want now … Steranko get him committed for a SS event while at HeroesCon CGC, this is long (3 years) overdue
  5. so say I have a book previously graded a 9.8 by CGC that I have let sit in the sun and now the cover is visibly faded and I send it in to merely be cracked and signed, is it still your belief it makes zero sense for it to be downgraded? /advocate of the devil
  6. https://collider.com/spider-man-across-the-spider-verse-audio-issues-phil-lord-comments/ and yes, I was "bothered" by the audio issues at my IMAX showing as well
  7. google another grading company on the internet that starts with C but doesn't end in C
  8. have you seen how some comics sit in their slabs or looked at how they position the hologram on their custom labels?
  9. why does CGC use the scales of justice on their logo is it supposed to represent the grading scale? because there is certainly little justice to be found
  10. Ross has not signed yet and is scheduled to start doing so next week anything with pressing services will have a "received at CCS" status (until they rebrand their message) and anything without will have a "scheduled for grading" status
  11. if it’s any consolation, the sigs (color and placement) actually present pretty well newton rings, shards, scuffing of the case …. well that’s just all in a day’s work at CGC
  12. The crystal-clear plastic’s superior optics unleash the newton ring’s true color and vibrancy.
  13. When he says “you can’t see me” is he referring to the blind people in CGC’s QC department?
  14. "celebrity"/actor signings tend to run higher ... guess they have better agents Todd can more than make up for his $125/book in volume comparatively
  15. Jolly you may have answered your own question when you say it may be a one time opportunity to have Cox sign your book I have never seen the D+ Hawkeye series but I would think that if she has any staying power there would be the chance for other opportunities in the future it is a feel good story that she landed the role and it sounds like you can relate with her as you share some commonality As for Mack, I searched the CGC news stories and I don't believe he has ever done a CGC in house signing but that isn't to say he won't ever do one in the future. I know having seen videos that he regularly signs at conventions, so if there was one you would be able to attend with a CGC witness on hand there would be a chance to have his sig added to an already signed book while maintaining the yellow label I can't answer if $125+ for her signature is worth it to you .... all I can say is do what is within your means and what makes you happy I have a number of SS books displayed in my collection because it makes me happy to look at them
  16. the anticipation of having your CGC shipment arrive at your doorstep (for those who didn't look) used to be wondering what grades the books came back as now it is more the dread of what issues exist with the slab(s)? maybe CGC should include the info about what newton rings, shards of plastic, scratches, mislabelings, etc we can expect in the graders notes so we can be prepared ahead of time or maybe they are just preparing their next $ide venture of grading the slab itself
  17. TOS 52 without hesitation between those choices
  18. not sure I understand your question but if you want a yellow SS label you need to have the book signed and witnessed by CGC from there you can get a standard yellow SS label or one of their current yellow custom labels as seen here https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/7873/ and in special instances they will have talent specific custom yellow labels for SS events (ex. Todd McFarlane, Alex Ross)
  19. If I recall correctly there was an image of slabbed SS books that hinted at sometime around the week of Memorial Day
