  1. It really wasn’t tough for me since it was the 2nd TEC #168 I owned. I’ll get around to obtaining another copy so I’m not too worried about it.
  2. Went to a con today. Took a few books to sell/trade. Ended up trading my TEC #168 for this Hulk #1. Definitely worth it.
  3. Congrats! Awesome book to own in any condition!
  4. Let me reiterate that sentence. While he didn’t exactly say that, he still said ASM #299 was considered Venom’s 1st appearance until different resources changed it to ASM #300.
  5. I know it changes nothing but it’s interesting to know what Roy Thomas thought since he had a part in the creation of Wolverine.
  6. While I do know trimming is pretty bad, I can see where you’re coming from but it can go both ways. Like you said, it's more like damaging a comic than "restoring" it. I understand that since you would be removing paper from the Cap #1 and you’re not restoring or replacing that missing paper, you would just be ruining a perfectly good book. Whereas I can see how it would be considered restoration since you’re altering the Cap #1 to improve its appearance, which is something that’s typically done when people choose to restore books.
  7. Restoration doesn’t bother me too much on mega keys like this. If that makes them more affordable, then I’m all for it. Having the book is what matters to me. Everyone has their own preference.
  8. That’s the thing. Due to its rarity, it could go for any amount. That’s why I’m just watching the book for the time being to see if it’s something I’m willing to jump on. I want to see if it’s in my favor because I’m sure there’s someone who wants that book way more than I do.
  9. Call me crazy but I would happy accept a $300k offer then proceed to buy a 7.0 that’s restored for $75k. I would have a nice chunk of money left over and would still have a Cap #1.
  10. I’m the same way right now. The books I do want are out of reach (for now at least ) but I’m bidding on the one(s) I do have a shot at and do want.
  11. I keep looking at this book and I want it. The temptation to bid on it is there but I have this feeling that’ll it go for more than what I’m willing to pay for it. This book is high up there on my grail list.
  12. The 51st edition came out on August 10th, 2021. I think it’s for both 2021 and 2022.
  13. Stephanie Williams did a signing for Nubia #1 last week at my LCS. I had the pleasure of meeting her.
  14. I doubt that’ll happen since people just go off whatever the market dictates. Todd McFarlane said that ASM #299 is Venom’s 1st appearance but people will still want ASM #300. So do I think Roy Thomas saying this will change anything? No. You would be better off just getting both books since this will be a never ending discussion.
  15. I think we have our answer! Roy Thomas says that Hulk #180 is in fact Wolverine’s 1st appearance. "Obviously it's #180 because he's in that last panel," Thomas tells ComicBook.com. Thomas co-created the character with Len Wein and John Romita. "It's just that the other is a full story and the one's a panel of it. But the first appearance is in #180, obviously."
  16. I still have yet to get my gold variant grail, Venom: Lethal Protector #1.
  17. Who knows? I don’t think anyone predicted comics would become what they are now. TEC #27 and Action #1 would be nice to own, but realistically it won’t happen for me. The only way I could see myself owning either is If I decide to buy a lottery ticket and win millions of dollars.
  18. I remember thinking I could buy these books when I first started out collecting. Little did I know they would cost hundreds of thousands.
