  1. No clue where the Promise Collection originated from but some books have a "K" marked on them while some others appear to have no marking at all. There were also some books that have a "C" marking as well with a date next to it.
  2. I wonder where these are today. Wouldn't be surprised if they were sold off in private sales and are sitting in someone's personal collection.
  3. I didn't even realize that, thanks for pointing that out.
  4. That could be a possibility, but then again it's covering the issue number which is why I found it quite odd.
  5. Troy is a great buyer, fast payment, smooth transaction!
  6. I totally agree with you on this. It's like how UF4 is right now, the 1st print is a $3000 book in a 9.8 while the Djurdjevic variant is a ridiculous $12,000 in a 9.6 grade. I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do with their money but I just think it's insane to drop that kind of money on a variant, especially when it's a modern book.
  7. I found the whole numbering thing very weird, not sure why they did that.
  8. Most pedigree's have a distinctive marking somewhere, and in this case it seems to be the letter "K" marked on some of the books.
  9. The 9.2 Suspense Comics #8 looks absolutely beautiful!
  10. Ahh yes, the other contributing factor to a comic's value. Page quality.
  11. I had this done by Joe Giella recently! I’m happy with the results of this for sure!
  12. That would be insane, 1 owner owns two of the highest graded PL #17’s ever. It was most definitely a wonderful auction to watch, seeing a high grade GA collection hit auction with a cool backstory behind it and just seeing them sell live. I wonder the what the rest of the collection has to offer besides the ones we saw within the last month, just imagine what treasures are left of this pedigree.
  13. This was my reasoning for bidding in this auction. There was books I was after but since they rarely turn up anywhere else, this was my best bet. I ended up getting a Flash Comics #88 out of it since it’s a book you hardly ever see come to market.
  14. I’m so jealous of you! I’ll trade you my 2.5 copy for this 9.2 copy. I think it’s a fair deal.
  15. I 100% agree with this! We don’t know who these people are but we can easily tell they’re in it for the hobby itself and not for financial gain. I can’t just see someone spending $456,000 on a TEC #140 for an investment, and the same goes for a PL #17, it just wouldn’t make any sense for anyone to purchase books on that scale and hope to make a profit.
  16. It’s a wonderful read. Going over the legacy of the legendary comic artist Neal Adams. It’s crazy to hear how close we came to losing him, glad to hear he’s recovered since from sepsis.
  17. I still think this is insane. If I’m not mistaken, this is the most a book from the Bronze Age of Comics has sold for period! I wonder how long before another 9.8 hits auction.
