  1. From time to time you post mess that makes me drool. This was one of those times.
  2. With a single book you have become the King of Iron Man/Sub Mariner #1!
  3. Soon my friend, very soon. By the way is it for sale? Negative. I've been wanting a nice copy of this for a while. Mission accomplished. I finally bought my keeper. Sweet copy, Oak. I love this magazine when it has a rich yellow color strike. The pic doesn't do it justice, simply a beauty. Now I have a fine+ copy for the Christmas raffle. (thumbs u I'll have to send my copy in with my next submission in a week or two. I don't know what it will get, but I figure it's at least an 8.5.

  5. yeah, I think there might be some call for that. Harbinger #1 isn't a major key, but it's much more of a key than New Mutants #98. Seriously? In some circles, NM 98 is THE key book of the copper age. That, and TMNT. I know if you are a fan of Deadpool, things may appear this way. But in general, New Mutants 98 is not THE key book of the Copper Age. There are many other books which may rank higher as critical, depending on your collecting focus. Especially Adventurers 1 Skeleton Variant. groin punch. Deadpool is the best thing marvel has ever come up with. 1980s thinking: Cable - greatest thing to come out of Marvel 1990s thinking: Venom - greatest thing to come out of Marvel 20X0s thinking: New Mutants 98 is worth a whole bunch - I found my new hero There was no Cable in the '80s. Technically, Cable first appeared in Uncanny X-Men 201 as Baby Nathan / Baby Cable, which was in the 1980s. Yeah, but nobody knew the word Cable and nobody gave two about Baby Nathan. I said that already, but much nicer. Glad to see you are up from your nap. I felt my name being used in vain in your other post. Now I'm grumpy. Feel my wrath.

  7. The highest grade you'll get on the book in the first few pictures is 9.6. The white on the spine and on the right can still sneak into a 9.8 slab, but the curling on the spine, how the book doesn't lay flat, will not get a 9.8. It's called a stacking curl and is probably one of the most common flaws keeping a book from the 9.8 slab. Luckily, it's easily fixed with a press. A bindery tear can still get a 9.8, but it hast to be tiny. Like hard to see tiny. If you have the tiny bindery tears on both top and bottom, chances are you're getting 9.6 at best. The same goes with blunted corners. Even if there is no fraying, if the spine corners are dinged, you're looking at 9.6 at best in most cases. A 9.8 can have a couple of flaws, but they have to be tiny. Production cuts such as the ones in your pictures are not going to stop it from getting 9.8.

  9. +1 DG I have set out to do what has never been done. Buying American books at any price is as easy as clicking the buy it now button I am proud to say I have shown Neal Adams books to sign he drew that he has never seen. Don't get me wrong. I've always liked foreign comics. It's McFarlane and that Spider-man #1 cover that I can't stand. Not wild about Punisher either. DG I probably have foreign keys of the books you like. Haters will hate on McFarlane its all good. Foreign comics are just novelties to me. Being a key doesn't make me like them more or less unless you go back to comics from the 40's or 50's. After all is said and done, they are still reprints. I actually prefer my comics from India that are not reprints of American content and they are in English so I can read them. McFarlane is overrated. Simple as that. He draws cartoon-like expressions and bodies contorted into impossible positions. He's overdramatic with the use of capes and costume accessories. I'm not impressed by any of the artists that formed Image. It's not "hate". I'm completely apathetic towards it. DG Funny you mention 40s or 50s, I just bought a Swedish Batman #1 from 1950. they are novelty for you, but serious collecting for some. To each is their own. McFarlane may be overrated but here you are still talking about him instead of whoever you think is underrated.... I like the Indian comics I have a few i like those too. but back to 1990s hard to find books...... Swedish Batman#1 is cool. Of course I'm still talking about McFarlane. You accused me of being a "hater" which simply isn't an accurate assessment. I own some McFarlane comics. I just don't see anything that warrants all the praise he gets. On the topic of McFarlane... I submit this relatively HTF TPB... Evidently, I have three of these now. DG Since you hate him so much, you should mail one of them to me. (thumbs u

Dramatic, dynamic, stylistic and fun.
  11. The stars have never aligned long enough for me to pick up a nice copy. Tough key book. Well, key for Corben fans. Tough for everyone. (thumbs u
  12. No idea. Just in the last few months it's kinda blown up again. Probably because I sold all the copies I owned.
  13. Is it just me or has Spidey 252 picking up a lot of steam after a short dormant period? Seems it got really hot 3 or 4 years ago, then went cold, now it's picking up steam again.
