  1. That's not the main reason why I do it but good points. Glad I have original star wars movies. A video game would come out, I would buy it somewhere and get a $15 $20 gift card free. Play the game beat it, and sell it and make $. Digital I would of been negative $60. Same with new books. Or wait a year and get either for a few bucks and 5 or 10 years later they are still worth a few bucks. I am fine with digital just not paying for it. For reading I want physical even though digital is free. Might read a digital comic new release and if good will pick it up when it becomes under a buck. $4 is too much for a comic. According to the inflation calculator, a comic that cost 12 cents in the 60s should now cost $1 not 4 or 5. So I feel like they are sticking it to me. Cars, houses, beer etc went up normally but somehow comics are special and can charge more. They say people buy digital music and movies and such. I suppose it is true. Don't know who these people are but good for them. Everybody I know uses torrent and has their Amazon fire sticks.
  2. I would say 6 is well under 30k print. I read that series and it got canceled real early.
  3. Not just you. Not by far. I want physical everything. I can't think of anyone I know who buys digital comics. I know people who read them for free. Know people who bought the book and used the code. Small %. They want the physical book. I have held social media sales and lots of teens and 20 somethings buying non key books and full runs. If dc stops printing, marvel will take over their share of the market. If marvel stops then there will be a problem. Other companies will make books but a lot of people want their known super heroes. Sure people buy digital comics but not enough. They weren't being nice giving out those free digital comics, they were trying to get people open to the idea of them and failed. Video game industry is same way, wants nothing more than for people to abandon the physical copies. Market has spoken, they don't want it.
  4. If your plan is to spend $20 on a worthless book so it can take up even more space then it's a good plan. Personally I would get better nm copies of the 90s book for under a $1 and try not to destroy them. In a full short box you should be able to move the box around every single day and not harm the actual books that are bagged and boarded. If in 10 years you don't want to rebag then don't. 30 years from now you find they are destroyed (good chance they won't be) then you can probably replace them again for the same $1. Might be $4 but same worth because of inflation.
  5. Always like to see people take a stand. That is such a small percentage I wouldn't give them any shelf space. You are nicer than me. I would take care of my subs, order a few extra copys of top sellers in case someone ask and slowly make my shop so its like dc doesn't exhist. Ordering books that you knew wouldn't sell, again nice guy. Wish your shop luck. Personally dc has to do what they feel is best. Bad time to do it. And wanting shops to put out their books on Tuesday is bs. Trying to undercut the competition. Shady move imo. A lot of shops take Monday off. And how much extra will your shipping cost will be because of this.
  6. Nothing happens so doesn't matter. They can have 300 unpaid item cases and are still bidding. For seller I don't know. You wouldn't think Ebay would suspend someone from selling since that is how they get paid but they are so terrible it wouldn't surprise me. I don't have many or any issues on there. I don't do returns. When they took away the 20% I took a stand. The 10% isn't worth it to me. I go out of my way to show defects and ship safe so no issues. It cost me $ but once a book is sold I don't want to ever see it again. If they make accepting returns mandatory I will probably be done selling on ebay. That day will come soon I figure. If they raise fees or something I am gone. It's a last resort for me as is. Only list on there if that is where it needs to be to get top $. Mainly my drek goes on ebay and just sits there until the 1 person in the world looking for it buys it.
  7. Oh wow 50% off. I am going to buy a ton of books there now. Sweet deal.
  8. Good luck dc. I am bi. But a lot of people I know are straight marvel. Most others buy more marvel. Variant hunters and speculators are a big part of new comic sales. I don't think digital only will make enough in order to pay the top artists. I know people who read digital comics and they get them like they get their music and movies. Personally it doesn't effect me at all. Haven't bought a new comic in years. Was going to start picking up a few. But so many back issues out there. A lifetime of reading is available for 50 cents a issue instead of $4 or $5. Comics are too expensive for me. I can afford it but rather wait a bit and they will be dollar bin items. My prediction dc keeps printing comics. If they ever stop marvel sales will jump up so fast. DC digital will fail. They will go back to print and fail. Will sell comic rights to a small publisher to use their properties. There will be print comics for at least another 50 years.
  9. I just noticed the "fully" part. Get some airtight time capsule and bury it deep in the ground. Copy what they did on oak island to protect against theft as well. I would worry a ton more about theft that fire or flood.
  10. Just read it when I seen your post. So relevant. If word gets out to the young ones I can see it getting a boost. I like the book however I always thought it was over priced or where it should be. 1st bronze age, wow so exciting. Lower print number, harder to find in high grade but not a 1st appearance. That is all the rage today.
  11. Terrible pics. What's going on with that bottom right corner, some weird shape crease. 7.0 if I had to grade it. Would ask for better pics.
  12. Used to be you would send them to my comic shop, put a huge asking price on them and they would just sit there safe and fully insured. Now you will have to pay some fees for that service if more than 2 years or something. If you send them enough actual books to sell they or another business would probably waive those fees. If you like to actually have your books near then it depends where you live. If you live in a safe neighborhood and keep things on the down low and in a non flood area with little risky of tornadoes, hurricanes, fires and you have someone home most the time insurance isn't as important. If it is cheap enough by all means get it. What some people I know pay for insurance I could buy a mega key every year. Personally I have no insurance. My home owners covers collectibles and personal items and such but not nearly enough. Keep books of value mixed in with 90s drek. Anything above 4 figures in safe box in a low crime, low protest risk area bank made of concrete and steel.
  13. 1.0 If you ever sell it, someone will think it's a 2.0
  14. If bullets start flying nobody is safe, not legitimate protestors, neighbors, anyone. I hate to see the legit protestors get hit with rubber bullets or tear gas, let alone a stray bullet. I don't know what a protestor is anyways. Someone that is peacefully out and obeying laws for sure. When they break curfew, no biggie. But seen plenty of people throwing things, spray painting, and breaking things calling themselves protestors. Not sure if I seen any looters making that claim but they tend to not brag about that on social media. Some people protest. Some just take advantage of situation to steal.
  15. Looks to have died down a lot. Csn flare up again if another incident or during after trial or if other cops don't get charged with anything. Hopefully doesn't get that bad. Breaking into homes won't last long. Too many protesters will be shot. Things get that bad, we will get that buyers market.
  16. I can see them breaking glass. Looking for cash in register. Taking some cool looking toys statues. But the only thing they would do with comics is burn them. A lot of shops don't have wall books. Sure if they see a wall book or something under glass with a expensive price tag it's gone. But not going to be running out with long boxes.
  17. I am surprised if this is true. I seen every type of store looted except comics. I could see people taking toys but leaving the long boxes. Thought comics would be safe. Same with a book store.
  18. At least doom is here. Nobody else is. Is it just me or is it dead. Same few people keeping any activity. Doom probably accounts for 20% of the activity. Once sports start, lockdiwnds and covid winds down how will it look in here then? Forum went off topic but it's not going to be a buyers market until unemployment is finished.
  19. You are a better person than me. I don't buy from them because I don't see any deals. But their are some books I want and ready to pay full pop so they can charge the seller whatever they want. I just want their book. Not worried about how much $ heritage is taking from them. They choose to use them.
