Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Myowncollector replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
We need a live tracker just scrolling across the bottom of the thread. I seen a few heating up a tad but not enough to report on. Few are trying super hard, selling like crazy, but print run is holding them down value wise. -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Myowncollector replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
The advice is instead of waiting for books that had strong characters that were used extensively to gain even more traction and approach $100, you should sell them all for a $20, buy a building and open a comic shop. -

Way I read it seemed like buyer protection. Either way friends and family is way to go. -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

Yeah I done it in the past. Just now getting back into it. I guess dcbs now charges market value for variants? I don't like the sound of that. -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Myowncollector replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Its not you it's me. My 3 closest shops are closed so not convenient to go to a shop anymore. Shops that are half hour to hour out don't seem to ever buy collections so no honey holes. Will have to spend a day checking in on them again. I figured the book would sell for $15. Figure the same thing about ironcat. I am lazy. Dont want to pack a book for 5 or 10 bucks. And if for some reason I am wrong I don't want to ship to break even or be stuck with a worthless book. -

That's better, long as you didn't buy a ton of these, you were in at just the right time, and you are the right seller who is known and has a following or just lucky. Even $10 doesn't move the needle for me. I thought $15 sounded ok until I thought about it and decided it wasn't worth it for me personally. If it was something I already owned that heated up to $15 or $20 I would be in. But to order it with Hope's of it being hot no. Glad you guys are making $ though. Hope it goes up more. Money is money. I will keep reporting on books and hopefully people have them. -

$10 plus $5 for shipping or $15 free shipping are same exact thing. Either way people pay $15 for it. -

No argument there. But time is time. Is 5 bucks worth it to drive to shop and check out or order it online, open box. Take photos, create listing, print label, pack it. Much rather buy a bigger book and make hundreds or thousands. It heated up for sure. Just not my thing. -

All good. This thread has been dead for 2 months. Modak raised it up from the dead like the undertaker getting up. -
Silver age comics that are heating up
Myowncollector replied to rabidwolf's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
Yeah if I see something on a site it doesn't seem to have the same effect. But when it's on google.com homepage everybody interested in comics sees it. Of course I don't get these articles recommended until hours or days later usually. -

Tales of suspense 94. Not much interest in the 93 cameo. @littledoom here is how it goes. Other news Alan scott is going to be gay and marvel has big plans for deadpool and ryan Reynolds beyond phase 4. -
Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
Myowncollector replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
Some article about him for something. I googled comic book speculation or something a month ago and ever since my Google homepage has these recommended articles from cbr, bleeding cool etc. Everything mentioned heats up. Lucky bast ards, they can stockpile books then tell everyone how they can see them in a movie, then list their books. -

Not strong enough. $3 to $5 for the book, $4 shipping and paypal. $1.50 fees. Too much work for 5 or 6 bucks. Another one of these coming soon though. Ironcat. Might even sell for more. -

I am very shallow. I never give a chance to discover the inner beauty if the outer doesn't catch my attention. -
Paypal stops protection for items bought to resale
Myowncollector replied to sd2416's topic in Comics General
It will have a huge effect on your selling. You won't have to lose $ to fees anymore! If buyers won't be protected they can just as easily pay friends and family. I only accept friends and family and do just fine. Never did a good and services transaction. Some people don't like it but most will do it. I mean why are they buying your item in the first place? Because it is the cheapest nicest one they found. Either send me my $ or go buy a more expensive one. If you don't buy it someone else will. -
Slabbed or unslabbed
Myowncollector replied to GrandmasterG's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
All depends. A good seller can get slab or above prices for raw. I buy and sell both. For buying a deal is a deal. I know people who only buy raw and ones who only buy slabs or at least for keys. For selling it all depends on book. I sell a lot more raw. Personally I would slab any of the following, majority of the time, of course there can be exceptions. 9.8 slab. A new census highest grade slab. Manufacturing defects slab. Date stamp slab. Ugly tan looking cover slab. Spine tears slab. Interior page damage slab. Barely hanging on to staples slab. -
Is it really a 9.6? I Bought the notes. Notes only say that there is a slight crease on the top left back cover ( which there is). 1) Top right blunted and bent. 2) Whole right side of comic looks trimmed. 3) Bottom left corner of spine ripped.
Myowncollector replied to Fost's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Buy the book not the label. Either trust cgc or look at pictures closely before buying. Not a 9.6 to me but cgc doesn't worry about bindery tears and other manufacturing defects like I do. -
Have you ever read a comic and think, what 5th grader drew this?
Myowncollector replied to JazzMan's topic in Comics General
I usually find the art terrible. Half the time it's so bad I cant read the book. Those hands are bad but other than that not even close to being the worst I have seen. -

I sold half a dozen or so of these. I don't think any was over $500 None on ebay now so if anyone has one a $600 sale wouldn't surprise me. -
