  1. I've got 6 books too and they just went to GEI today (3/3/23). 60 days is outrageous, especially considering how long we've already waited ......
  2. A very nice 6.0-6.5. Shame about the cover tear but it will present really well after a C&P.
  3. I would submit this particular book to CBCS and the others to CGC for the Clairmont signature. At some point, Clairmont will probably do a signing event with CBCS and you can submit #120 then. Just my two cents though.
  4. Nice looking mid-grade copy. You might squeak out a 5.0 with a REALY good clean and press. For me the biggest issue is going to be the stain on the back cover. CGC is unkind when it comes to staining...
  5. I agree with 5.0. Maybe even higher. Mega grails like this are always worth grading no mater the condition. This particular book is a great looking copy that will present very well in a slab. Congrats to your friend and let us know the results!
  6. That's a very presentable copy that you have there. My guess is that it would come in somewhere between 8.5-9.2. If you submit the book to CGC for the Clairmont signing, you will automatically receive the yellow and green label that @atticus.fetch referenced. I'm not a huge fan of green labels because they usually suggest some kind of exception or defect to the book worth noting. If you submit the book to CBCS for their verified signature program, the book will comeback slabbed in one of their yellow labels. They use the same label for both verified and witnessed signatures (assuming it's authentic of course)...
  7. Wow! It really pops in the slab. Congratulations again! Top result.👍🎉
  8. I agree. 5.0 max for this one even though it will present nicely if slabbed. Stains are a killer....
  9. 8.0-8.5 range. Blunting on upper right and lower left corners of cover keep this book out of the 9.0’s (IMHO). A C&P would definitely help. Thanks for posting.
  10. Great news! Now I just have to wait for CCS/CGC to do their thing…. Should have my books back before Labor Day…Maybe.😂
  11. Congrats! It’s a beautiful copy. Share a pic of the slab when you receive it.
  12. I agree with the prevailing wisdom on this one: 8.0. I'd also recommend submitting to CBCS for the sig. verification. Nice book either way.
  13. Nice book! Slight spine wear and corner blunting. Back cover should cleanup with a c&p. I’d put it in the 7.0-7.5 range.
  14. That's actually a pretty good C&P. The book was really dirty when raw. Congratulations on a great result. Enjoy your grail!
  15. I wish they would just be honest about lead times….. if he still has a mountain of books to sign, then why not come out and say as much?
  16. The subscription crease alone isn’t the real issue. I think the spine split and multiple tears are what is really affecting the grade. I agree with the others here. Your book is unlikely to improve in grade. That being said, you don’t risk much by re-submitting (other than cost). I suspect CCS will decline the c&p due to the spine splits and the book will be regraded as is. Who knows, you might get a 2.5. It’s already a great looking 2.0 holy grail though. Up to you. Thanks for posting.
  17. 8.0 for me. I have a 7.5 copy and this one looks noticeably better. Good luck with the submission!
  18. Just got off the phone with CGC Customer Service. TM is going to be back in Sarasota this Thursday (2/16) to finish signing the remaining batch of books. Mine are in there somewhere.....
  19. Your book could defiantly benefit from a Clean & Press. I’d put it at a 6.5-7.0 (with a C&P). A great book in pretty much any grade and yours presents nicely! Thanks for sharing.
  20. 7.0 on account of the stains. CGC is brutal when it comes to staining... Still a nice book and absolutely worth slabbing.
  21. You would be crazy to part this out! You have the cover, which is half the battle right there! slab everything together and submit. On an iconic Golden Age grail like this, anything else would be a shame. Also slabbing everything together wont hurt the market value of the book, if anything, it will help maximize your return. Collectors with coverless / incomplete copies of this book will be tripping over themselves to acquire your copy.
  22. I’m at an 8.0. Thanks for posting.
