  1. 5.0. It will look great in a slab. Thanks for posting.
  2. Wow. This book still has really nice deep cover colors. Such a shame about that tear.... Also see some chipping along the bottom front cover and tanning to the inside pages. Is there any brittleness to the book? That cover looks pretty stiff and it almost looks like the paper cracked around the cover tear. With the defects and the tanning I'm going to say 5.0 - 5.5 (as long as there is no brittleness).
  3. I would agree. 7.5 at best with the spine stress lines. The black cover accentuates the defects. Still a great book. Good luck!
  4. Hey @Meekrab, why don't you weigh in with your own grade? I'd still be very curious to see how CGC would treat this book; assuming it doesn't sell of course...
  5. I don't think CGC will go higher than 5.5 with a clean & press. They have been harsh with their late bronze and copper age grades. Still a great book and likely to go up in value if the rumors about the next big villain in the MCU are true.
  6. Not sure that I understand. Are you saying that the red ink is original? If you look at the inside front cover, you can see clear signs of bleed through from the ink/marker used on the eyes. To me this is a clear sign of color touch. Probably done by the kid who bought the book in period. In any case, I would think that CGC would consider that as restoration.
  7. I'd have it pressed again. I better pressing job should improve the deep creasing that's still visible on the back cover, (IMHO).
  8. 7.5 with a C&P. Maybe higher if they do a really good job with the pressing. Nice book!
  9. 4.0 - 4.5 with a C&P. Pity about those stains but otherwise a solid mid grade book.
  10. Nice looking book. I am going to go with a 7.0.
  11. Looks like the cover is still attached so I'd say 1.5 to 1.8. However... those red ink stains around the eyes are going to give you a restored grade..... Personally, I wouldn't send this in to be graded unless you don't mind a PLOD.
  12. I have an 8.0 and this one looks a good deal better. With a good clean & press I would say 9.0. Nice book!
  13. Worth taking this one to a really good pressor. I see a lot of non color breaking creases on both covers which should come out. If cleaned and pressed properly, this book should be in the 5.0 - 6.0 range. Definitely worth picking up for sure.
  14. I stand corrected! If a blue 2.0 is achievable, I think that would be a far better outcome for the OP than any GLOD grade.
  15. How does this book get a blue 2.0 with a clipped stamp? In my experience, CGC wont give incomplete books anything higher than 0.5 in blue label.
  16. Nice copy. 9.2 to 9.4 range with C&P.
  17. Qualified (green) 5 to 5.5 with a good clean and press.
  18. @scburdet, I had not realized that the SS program had its own dedicated grading team within CGC. This makes sense though and also explains the accelerated pressing and grading turnaround times offered when submitting a book for SS.
  19. Thank you all for the feedback. I completely agree with the general assessment that this is a very generous grade. I bought the book knowing about the back cover tear. The seller had not disclosed that said tear included several interior pages... That being said, I paid a midgrade price and I also didn't know about the Mark Jewelers insert either so even stevens I guess. This is for my PC. I'm not looking to flip the book and I'd certainly disclose the defects if I did. The book does present beautifully. If not for the tears, it would likely grade in the low 9.0's. Shockingly, the grader notes do not disclose the interior tears. CGC definitely needs to get its act together. See below: Grader Notes:light spine stress lines to cover light tears to cover
  20. 2.5 - 3.0 range for me. The book should be cleaned and (spine wear permitting) pressed. Cover is still attached with no missing pieces / corner chips. No way that book grades below a 2.0 (as is).
  21. That is a beautiful copy. With a good clean and press, I would say 8.5 to 9.0. The only possible issue that I see is the light foxing coming through on the upper right corner of the back cover. Really nice book though. Congrats.
