  1. That’s an interesting insight but I don’t think this is the case. The original staples are in very good condition and I don’t think they’ve been removed and reattached. They’re attached all the way through the comic including the cover. At least I hope it isn’t the case
  2. Another pick up from today What grade do you guys reckon this is? Thanks in advance
  3. Based on front and back alone I’d be around a 4.0.
  4. Thanks, with that notation is it a blue label or would of be a green?
  5. Very pleased to have picked this up Couple of minor concerns though: Does it look to anyone else like the cover might have been trimmed? I know manufacturing quality wasn’t great at the time so it might not be trimmed. The 1st page is similar but I’m not sure if that means it’s more or less likely that it has been trimmed. There’s a 2nd set of staples that have been added (the ones you can see on the front and back cover). The original staples are in great condition so not sure why others would have been added. What’s the potential impact on the grade? I guess I could remove them and just have small holes instead but I think it’s highly unlikely I’d actually do this. Overall what grade do you think this is? Thanks in advance!
  6. Around a 6.0 for me. Higher if that back cover can be successful cleaned.
  7. Nice copy! Don’t see many issues with it and the biggest apparent one is the ding on the front by the spine. I’d put this around a 7.0/7.5 and I could easily see it getting an 8.0 with a good C&P.
  8. Another Cap pick up from today. Also the 2nd appearance of Kraven the Hunter. Highly unlikely I’d get this one slabbed but curious to know what grade you guys think this is and how much of a grade deduction due to the cover? Thanks in advance!
  9. Just arrived today! Really like the condition of this copy but struggling with my grade estimate due to the slight damage to the back cover. What grade do you folks think this is? Thanks in advance
  10. I think the ad on the back page might have helped with that. As some of the back cover can be seen on the front cover and there are some horizontal lines in the ad. There are spine ticks above and below this though. No notes so but I’m not complaining as I thought it would be around a 7.0/7.5!
  11. Let me know when you do get it back. I’m thinking of upgrading mine already!
  12. Thanks! Was definitely pleased with grade thought it would be a little lower. Got a good deal on it too, it was about £50 for that copy and one other later issue.
  13. It was my Silver Surfer #15 from my PC, I posted it on here a few weeks ago. I only sent it in as I’d managed to get a good deal on a high grade copy, my only other slabbed volume 1 is #2. Sounds like it reacted to a cleaning agent during the pressing. The back spine was quite dirty and that’s where they said it had colour pull. I’ve asked them not to send it on to CGC now.! Just been a bit of a waste of time really but it’s being sorted at the moment.
  14. I thought a 5.0 was realistic so very pleased. However the most pleasing aspect is that it was obviously well handled by CGC. The bottom staple was detached from the front cover but still attached to the back cover. I was concerned it would become fully detached during the process, it was in the Economy Tier. I think that might have dropped it to a 5.5/6.0 so fair play to CGC!
  15. In a way I’m glad I didn’t as I would’ve used CCS. They told me last week that 1 of my comics has been damaged during the process and dropped from a 9.0 to 7.0. Bit worried about the other 3 of mine they have now! Thought this had a good chance of a 3.5 but 0.5 either way is okay with me.
  16. I didn’t get it C&P as it didn’t seem worth it due to the other issues but I always wonder if CGC add the finger bends for you
  17. How did you get on with yours? From memory it was definitely a nicer copy than mine.

  24. Hmm I seem to be a bit harsher than the other responses so far I was thinking around a 7.0 and a 7.5/8.0 with a C&P. Main concerns are the front spine ticks (particularly the one on Thor above the issue box), front top edge, bends to rear spine and stain to edge of back cover (is this definitely a stain? Initially thought a small piece was missing). Also I think the price stamp might hurt your grade a bit. I know CGC are meant to turn a bit of a blind eye to UK price stamps but I had a comic back a few months ago with the traditional old UK price stamp and the grader notes called it a store stamp!
