  1. Struggling with my own grade for this one. Overall it's not in bad condition but the cover is completely detached. What are your thoughts?
  2. I did wonder if it was something like that with my Secret Wars 8. Had it C&P and was sure it was a 9.0 minimum beforehand. Got a 8.0 and the only note was ‘light creasing to cover’.
  3. @Wipple@scburdet@MrRoboto@grebal@Galen130@grendelbo@Primetime@Qalyar I sent in 28 comics in my last submission and only posted 7 on here. I got some mixed results overall, I was sure my Secret Wars #8 was in the 9.0s and it came back an 8.0 but I also got a couple of 6.0s for some Silver Age goodies when I expected them to be around 4.0s! However this is the grade I was sweating on the most, especially whether it would get a Universal label! 3.5 Off White to White Universal Grader's notes: pg 1 reattached w/ extra stpls 2 staple(s) added after manufacturing light staining to cover moderate creasing to cover Very happy!

  10. Just picked this up. What grade do you fine folks think this is? Thanks in advance. Nuff said!
  11. Here it is. Pretty beat up and a piece missing to the cover. I’m assuming it was a return due to the location and way the missing piece has been cut. I guess people really weren’t interested in paying 15 cents at the time. Still cool to have though!
  12. Thanks for putting this together, great resource! I recently got a load of Charltons as part of a collection and was wondering about one of them as it had a different cover price to the images online. I now know I owe a 15c copy of Space War #15 so thank you for taking the time to do this
  13. I never thought to look at what I had the declared the value as. Just had a look now, I said £300 which is about $330 although it was probably worth more $$$ at the time
  14. I didn’t think they were going to offer me any compensation as I thought it would be covered by their T&Cs and basically a case of mess happens. I had sent in 25 comics total with 4 going to CCS so the credit helped towards that plus it was more than I had paid for this issue raw anyway. Annoyingly I got all the comics back about a month later than I could of, as initially they invoiced me for C&P and grading for all 4 issues and they didn’t apply the credit. Took about 3 weeks to get the revised invoice, admittedly there was a hurricane at the end but I had already been waiting 2 weeks at that point. Also to be fair when I asked them to pull the other 3 comics from pressing, they did say that they’d already rejected my FF#6 as being too fragile.
  15. It was my first time using CCS as well. I’m in the UK so less pressers around and the good ones have extremely long wait times! If it was any other comic I would have been a lot more PO and my immediate concern was the other 3 I also sent to CCS. From memory this issue cost me around £100-150 raw. I only sent it in as it was high grade. The rest of my SS vol 1 are all raw except for #1. They didn’t send me any pictures of the damage but I was guessing it wasn’t “minor” as they claimed because they reckoned it had dropped from a 9.0 to a 7.0. Definitely wasn’t expecting it to me this much though else I would’ve asked for more credit. They did clean the back cover well though, perhaps too well as I’m guessing the damage was caused in the press by some kind of reaction to whatever they clean it with. Lesson learnt!
  16. @grendelbo@scburdet@MrRoboto@jcjames@Mars76@CJ Design@Galen130 Update - Got this back today and thought you guys might appreciate seeing it now. To be fair to CCS, their customer service rep/claims specialist was really good. I asked them to stop my other 3 comics from being pressed. FF #67 had already been pressed (7.0) but FF #6 (2.5) and Batman #181 (7.0) were just verified by CCS and sent on to CGC. In the end we agreed a $200 credit on my account for the damaged caused to this issue. Quite a bit of damage to the back but surprisingly also on the top front which wasn't there before!
  17. Might be best not to use CCS for a C&P. I posted a copy of SS #15 on here a little while back. I only sent it in as it’s a cool cover was a high grade copy (the rest of my SS vol 1 are all raw except #1). Used CCS and it got damaged during pressing! They estimated the damage had dropped it from a 9.0 to 7.0! To be fair they did compensate me and I’ll update the thread when it’s finally back in my possession. Look forward to hearing how you get on with this one
  18. I’m around a 7.0 for this one. A nice clean of the back cover would certainly help it.
  19. One of the many keys I pulled from my recent acquisition of a SA/BA Batman and Detective Comics collection. Don’t want to bombard the board so thought I’d just post this key. The cover presents nicely but it’s completely detached and I don’t know what that is on the back cover! What grade do you reckon this is? Thanks in advance
  20. Recently bought a collection of mainly SA/BA Batmans and Detective Comics. Found this with them! Obviously in rough shape and the spine is taped. Bit conflicted about whether I’d actually get it graded as it’s so cool to look through. Definitely the oldest comic in my collection now (but about 15 years) and I’m kind of awestruck by the fact that this was read during WWII! Anyway what grade do you fine folks think this is? Thanks in advance
  21. Thanks man, appreciate it. I considered removing the other staples but have decided against it. I’m not brave enough!
  22. That’s awesome, thanks so much. I really appreciate your opinion
  23. @grendelbo Thanks man, I’d love to get your opinion on this one as well as struggling a bit with my own grade due to potential issues.
