Couple more cheap DIG Auction wins. First is Batman 199 - I've always loved this cover: For fun, I found all of the other covers that are depicted on this cover (I don't own these): And this one is probably silly to have in an 8.0, but I won it at $20 in a pure impulse purchase, so what the heck:

Just won this run lot on eBay the other day, and it already got here today! 472-480, and 476 includes the DC Reader Survey:

I was excited and shocked that I won this lot on eBay - straight run of Detective 472-480, and the 476 also has the DC questionnaire insert. I thought for sure I'd be outbid. Must have had a "Strange Apparition" watching over me... And these were some inexpensive DIG Auction wins. I paid less than raw prices for the 357 and 386 in comparable grade, and the Death Metal LotDK was a $25 impulse buy, since I was already paying for shipping anyway at that point.

Given enough time, they'll most likely all be off-white and worse anyway. The slabs probably slow the decay of paper, but they don't stop it outright.

A 3x premium on White pages??

This is so sad to hear. Perez is one of the artists who shaped my love for comics, as I'm sure he did for many others here. As a Batman fan, when I envision my "ideal" versions of characters, there is a specific artist for each, i.e., Batman (Neal Adams), Batgirl (Carmine Infantino), Joker (Brian Bolland). My ideal Robin will forever be George's version of Richard Grayson.

I feel like such a jerk - I had 2 buyers, one bought a $10 spiderman book and the other bought a Tomb of Dracula 19. I've never made this mistake before, but somehow I got the labels mixed up and sent the wrong packages to the wrong buyers. Total mistake on my part and I know I'll never make it again after this learning experience. The guy who was supposed to get ToD contacted me right away yesterday when it was delivered and asked for a return - that's how I learned of the mistake. Of course I approved the return and sent a label right away. I also immediately sent a message to the other guy yesterday explaining the situation and asking him to initiate a return when he got the book, and I'd square it all away (it was out for delivery still when the first guy did his return). Last night, the book showed as delivered to him, but I didn't hear back. This afternoon I sent another message apologizing again, saying I saw it was delivered and asking him to start a return so I could send him a label. Nothing so far. ToD 19 isn't a crazy expensive book, but it is more than $10. I just hope the guy isn't ghosting me and keeping it - especially since the actual buyer of it has been so awesome and understanding. I hate losing money due to my own incompetence, but I'm more just embarrassed that I made the mistake, and I feel awful for the original ToD buyer because he seemed excited about the book.

Also, I actually had Bat-jammies very similar to those as a kid, and Superman ones too. They had a cape that attached with velcro at the shoulders. If my wife wouldn't divorce me over it, I'd consider having some adult ones made.

I knew someone would call out the Bat-Jams! To quote a Tik-Tok (which I always do because it makes my kids cringe) - "I put this shoulder up, I put this shoulder up, then I drop em; cuz I don't care. I don't care!" Still my favorite cover.

Cool catch, I didn't notice that! I also thought it was interesting that it just says, "Vol. 1, No. 6" and doesn't denote it's an annual.
