  1. While there are still some cheap copies out there, even on eBay, Blue Beetle 3 from the 2006 run is getting some minor heat as the "first new Peacemaker" appearance.
  2. I generally like Dell'Otto's work, but a lot of his more recent Spidey stuff especially has a kind of "sameness" to it that just isn't doing it for me. And this new one, I don't know - all I can see is a grumpy cat or something who got caught in the rain and is looking at you like, "hey, stop taking pictures and dry me off!"
  3. Pulled this from a "10 for $5" bin. I knew nothing about it but it looked interesting. It's low grade - a lot of cover issues - but apparently it's fairly uncommon to find. Pretty neat! There are puzzles and games for kids inside, but none of them are written on or done.
  4. Went to a small show Sunday - kind of slim pickings and wall books priced on the higher side. Still, some more reasonable deals to be found in some of the back issue and bulk bins. Picked up a small random haul:
  5. Thank you! I was aware of the Toys R Us packs - mostly because of the one that has Batman 423 - but I didn't know there were stickered comics in the packs. Thanks for the info!
  6. I bought the Spider-man Free Comic Book Day 2020 in a CGC 9.8 for $30 awhile ago just for the label. I had gotten back into collecting during COVID, and I just wanted the label that says "1st full appearance of Virus (distributed after Venom 26 due to COVID-19 pandemic shipping delay)." Stupid reason? Maybe, but I assure you I've spent more money on even stupider things.
  7. I'm hoping someone here can help me out with something I found today. I was at a small show and I picked this up in a "10 books for $5" bin: It's Batman 416, but it has a bullet logo sticker affixed over the newsstand UPC. When I got home and took it out of the bag, I opened it to see that it's a third printing. I know there have been other "stickered" books before - I think they were directs with a newsstand sticker? This one is just something I've never seen. The sticker doesn't seem to be an exact rectangle, it almost looks like it was cut off a roll or something.
  8. I broke down and preordered a copy of it - just the regular one that was like $4.
  9. I figured my 244 was already a 6.5, so at least my 251 6.5 "matched." I still want/need to get a bunch of the Neal keys. I do have Brave and the Bold 93 in a 5.0, but I won it at auction for only $23, so I can't complain! Love that B&B 93 cover!
  10. I'm just over here with my 6.5, but happy to have it!
  11. It looks nice. I wish they still had prices for all grades. I'll probably just use Covrprice and maybe eventually pay for it. I don't sell enough graded books to use GPA, I just look at eBay comps for sales when I'm setting prices for raws that I sell on there.
  12. CovrPrice is listing a $20,138 sale of a 9.8 Blue Newsstand on 10/1, and it was in a recent ComicTom video too, but I can't find out where it was supposedly sold. Any news?
  13. There are some cool/interesting Booster storylines as it relates to some Crises, multiverse stuff, etc. I think Booster is a pretty interesting character when done right. Cool book!
  14. Bought in cheap recently on some Panda Khan - apparently there's a cartoon that's been in the works for the past year or so... Either way, some cool books - I always loved that action figure from the TMNT run.
  15. I agree with all of this. I'm a huge Batman fan. I do think the art on this is gorgeous - moody, great use of light. But there's no way I'd go in for $400 on the 1:250. I guess maybe I'd pay the $25 or whatever for the regular version, but I'm with you - I don't like the Spider-Man 1 parallel. But then, I also bought this, so who am I to talk: (Although, I don't care - I do love the Batman 423 cover...)
  16. The turn around times on the site say 186 days for pressing and 106 for grading - so those stack? I thought maybe the 186 for pressing included pressing+grading TAT (I can't imagine people really send for pressing only)... So it's really 292 days if you want to get your book pressed and then graded?
  17. If you've got an extra $400 laying around, man, have I got a book for you: https://unknowncomicbooks.com/products/batman-118-cvr-f-inc-1-250-viktor-bogdanovic-gold-foil-card-stock-var-1-200-12-08-2021
  18. It's really cool! I was surprised to find it, and at a surprisingly low price too!
  19. This one is kind of interesting - I kind of dig that it's an error copy actually. Just got this nice copy of Catwoman 46, a nice Hughes cover (the marks are from my dirty scanner I keep forgetting to clean; disregard those please): When I opened it up, this is what I found: First couple of pages/wraps are short. So I went to the back of the book: So it's like miswrapped but cut correctly, so the front pages are short and the back pages are cut off. I haven't seen this before - like I said, kind of neat and unique.
